[Wanda knows Adam was basically right. After all, she'd told him when they first met that she'd only had them for a few years. Yet... in a few years, was this truly as far as she had come in mastering them? She had thought she was stronger than this, but her bandaged leg served as the perfect reality check.]

And how much time would that be? How much time must pass before I can successfully defend both myself and those I care about?

[Her words are bitter; her frustration now being inadvertently channeled and redirected at Adam.]

[Adam raises his brow a bit and then moves a little closer.]

Hey, it's not that simple. It's not a time limit sort of thing.

[Then, after a moment.] Do you want to go back? Maybe it will be easier if we're away from this ship.

[Wanda looks up at Adam, clearly angered by the suggestion. In a stern voice, she makes it very clear how she feels about the idea of leaving.]

I will not leave. There are some here who still need protecting, and I will not abandon them. If there is some good that I can continue to do here, then I will not run away.
