[After this seasonally inappropriate song gets stuck in your head, it's time for a mingle! Come on up, new Windrosers, it's time to party.]

[The transition is abrupt enough that the Vision pauses for a few moments after being shuffled in to get his bearings again. One would think he'd be more used to this sort of thing by now.

Still, it's not too long after that he begins to explore. The ships didn't seem to be nearly as big as the Marsiva from what he had seen earlier, so it shouldn't take him too long to find other crew members. For their consideration, he doesn't actually float along just yet - walking on the floor will have to do. Still, if there's at least one room with a nice high ceiling he'll have to hang out there and practice hovering in artificial gravity.]

[With the confetti and everything, it's pretty hard to miss the arrival of someone new. Ray had been trying to create the most disgusting-looking combination of gel flavors when it happens, and he looks up. Finally, something is happening, it's been like an entire half-day.

He makes his way over to the bridge, grinning, ready to greet whoever's new here.]

Hey, welcome ab-- [He blinks when he sees what their new crewmate looks like. Like there hadn't been enough tall red men in his life yet?] You're uh, you're looking a little red around the edges there, pal. That normal?

[The Vision turns away quickly from inspecting the technology and smiles in what he hopes is a reassuring manner.]

Thank you. Yes, this is my natural skin color; I am called the Vision and it is a pleasure to meet you.

[Ray isn't that easily reassured-- but luckily he's not really freaking out that bad, either. Just a little on edge.]

Sure, likewise-- Ray Kowalski. Pretty ballsy name, 'the Vision'. You pick that out yourself?

[Funny, he doesn't even have reproductive organs.]

I did not. It comes from two sources - one who envisioned me as his perfect creation, and another whose vision of the future showed my role in it. Before I knew it, the name had stuck.

[The area with the highest ceiling is definitely the cargo hold; at least if you stay below the staircases. Other than that, not much can be said about the area, other than that it contains their shuttles and a nice treadmill. Which Polly has been using for a while now.

She stops when she sees the newcomer, quickly wiping her face with a towel.]

Did the shuffle happen? Hi, I'm Polly, the Captain.

[She's just. Not going to comment on the fact that he's red unlike Ray.]

So it would appear. [He inclines his head in respect.] I am the Vision. Do you prefer to be addressed as Polly or Captain Polly?

[This looks like an excellent place to practice floating in artificial gravity. He'll hold off for a moment until he's introduced though.]

The Vision? [A strange name, but she's heard stranger.] Just Polly works. It's not the army.

[She should know, she's also a sergeant.]

I'm glad to meet you, Polly. [He even sounds sincere about it.]

It seems the knowledge they have implanted in me is in regards to technology aboard the ships, appropriately enough. I will attempt to keep up with these responsibilities on my own, but please, if there is anything in particular you feel needs my attention I would appreciate the input.

So you're an engineer, too? [Two engineers definitely seems useful. ] You should probably talk to Ray, then. He's taken the engine apart a few times.

[Polly is spending more and more time on the bridge lately. After their trip through the astroid belt, she's become increasingly aware that, no matter how much information about piloting she's had dumped in her brain, she still lacks the experience and the reflexes. And it might be a good idea to hone those.

But honing those doesn't mean flying in a straight line. Honing those means taking a few risks.]

Grab onto something!

[Is all the warning anyone gets before she makes a sharp turn, twisting the ship onto its side and changing directions. The fake gravity will make up for the difference in a split second or so, it's fine.]

[Ray has been walking around, minding his own business, and suddenly he's changing directions.]

What the fuck, Polly! Some warning would be nice!

I told you to grab onto something, Ray.

[Maybe she's being a little mean, but-- No, it's fun, and it's important, and she feels absolutely no remorse.]

[First, ow. Her stupid back. Second, fuck the back, that was fun.

Wrath whoops. Might be some tears in her eyes there, but she will make up for it with pure toughness and enthusiasm.]

Do that again! Can you do a high G bank in this thing? [Making her feel like she has a hovercycle again.]

[Whoops, she didn't mean to make the newcomer fall. It's fun when it happens to Ray, but she's seen the cane Wrath uses. On the other hand, she definitely sounds enthusiastic.]

I could try, but I'm not sure the ship won't fall apart.

[It's. Not exactly a top class ship.]

Oh, that sucks balls. Well, I think Vision is supposed to do engineering, and he sounds really smart so maybe he can get the equipment in better fighting shape.

[... Not everything is about fighting, Wrath.]

Ray is an engineer, too. The problem is that we don't have any equipment to upgrade with.

[And Polly is military, too. It's definitely fighting shape.]

The fleet has been attacked in the past. It's better to be on the safe side.

Thankfully, Wrath's gotten a cane between arrival and shuffle, so she can at least move around a little better. But she's definitely leaning on that cane, limping along. She shouldn't be standing so much at all, but she really wants to explore the ship and see who else is there!

And it's so cool. She's never been on a spaceship before. And it's in space! SPACE!

So yes. She is excited and happy to be here.

It's good to see that enthusiasm on a lady, and when Ray runs into her it's obvious it's catching. He grins at her and sticks out his hand.

"Hey, good to see you on the ship."

I'm going to assume she'll get to asking his name in the other thread OK? :)

At the sight of a (barely) familiar face, the wattage on the smile, impossibly, goes up. "Ray!" Enthusiastic hand shaking ensues. "So this means we get to work together, huh? That's great! And I think our ship has the best name."

It's pretty. She likes pretty. Pretty and knives, really.
