[sleeping Pearl kinda looks dead. If anything, it's probably because she's not moving at all. Or breathing, for that matter. And when she regains consciousness, it's all at once. No gradual waking up for her.

In fact, as soon as her eyes pop open, she's scrambling out of the bed, getting tangled in the bedsheets, and falling onto the floor right onto her face with a loud thud.

A hissing intake of breath, and then Pearl is turning around and staring in surprise at...the bed.]

Sleeping? But that's not...I've never -

[and then she finally sees the giant windows and more importantly, the fact that she's in space. Oh and also that she's probably been kidnapped or something like that.

..............]

GARNET! AMETHYST!!!

[and she's tearing off the bedsheets and scrambling to her feet. Don't hyperventilate. Stay calm. Don't freak out. This doesn't look like Gem based technology. Then again, she barely knows what modern Gem technology looks like. But, but it could also be some completely unknown alien species who had somehow kidnapped her and taken her hostage and of which she knows absolutely nothing about!!

Interesting- I've never met a crystal gem before. I'm Jennifer- I've been pulled from my world just like you have. You're on a spaceship called the Marsiva- if the word "spaceship" means anything to you.

[she waves her hand about vaguely] Gems have been traveling through space long before humans discovered agriculture.

[but that's ancient history and she has to focus on the now.] Do you know why we're here?

Oh, good- I'm never quite sure how to explain space travel to people who don't have the slightest inkling of what it is.

[She nods, a grin tugging at her lips.] You're here to star in a reality television show.

[that jerks her out of trying to contemplate explaining something like that.]

[buh] But why?? From what I understand, they have plenty of material for their silly shows.

Your guess is as good as mine. For all we know, our audience isn't even human- we're not sure who or what they are.

It's... not entirely out of the question for another species to take an undue interest in humans.

Yeah... which is why I find it plausible. Of course, humans watch plenty of trash you wouldn't expect them to be interested in, too, so it's even odds they're human or not.

[she pauses for a moment, suddenly suspicious and looking all around.]

They're recording this, aren't they? [the screen shifts to a view of the floor as she examines the communicator]

[that's a groan. Now she's going to start watching everything she says.]

No wonder they were kind enough to provide us with these things.
