It's occurred to me that the fleet has about ten times as many firearms as it does medical professionals. It's also been pretty apparent that a lot of our cast members don't know the basics of gun safety and use. If anyone wants to learn, I'll be at the following coordinates.

[For those of you who prefer to just show up rather than respond to the video, Natasha is in an empty gallery-like space on the waystation, several closed crates at her feet as she marks out a series of lines on the floor. This entire wing looks deserted and thoroughly looted, she doesn't think anyone will complain about a little vandalism.]

[Felix shows up though he isn't sure this is really that good of an idea. It's probably a terrible idea of him, actually, but he's tried for feeling so vulnerable. Back home, his vulnerability had contributed to his father's madness, who knew what it would do here?

[Mal shows up, because why would she not? Natasha's already teaching her everything else, it seems. Why not this? She hopes she's proven herself to be a willing student thus far and that Natasha won't question her presence too much.]

... You use guns? [it's kind of unusual. chie has a friend who fights with a gun, but it's mostly used in summoning her persona. outside of that, guns are not commonplace in Inaba.]

[Polly is actually pretty sure she can figure out how to use these guns. You point and shoot - it seems simple, or at least the principle is similar to the pistol horsebows she's already used to. But she also knows the importance of practice, on the off chance that it is different, because you don't want to find that out when the enemy's already rushing you.

Not yet, as far as I know, but I'd rather be proactive about it. No reason to wait until someone loses a foot.

[She'd expected a few people in particular to show up, but Felix wasn't among them. She'd figured the swords and sorcery crowd would be happy to stick to what they knew, barring a few outliers. Doesn't mean she won't still teach them. Standing, she faces him, gesturing to the empty room.]

Her light steps almost manage to catch Natasha off-guard, but she's almost used to Mal's presence by now, and the faint scent of grease she tends to carry with her these days. Standing, she turns, gesturing to a crate.]

Can't have weapons training without weapons. I'd prefer to keep them under control until they're needed.

[Polly at least handles the weapon like someone who's seen one before, which is good. She trusts her captain with a weapon a little more than she would anyone else, in any case, which is to say, more than not at all.]

I've had weapons training. More than most can say, here. What about you?

I don't need to learn, but I could do with some range practice.

[She lifts the gun a little as she says it - but she's smart enough, or experienced enough, not to point it at either of them. Which she knows is more than can be said for some people.]

We had pistol horsebows. We stole them off the Zlobenian First Heavy Dragoons. [If she sounds proud of that, it's because she is.] The general principle's the same, right? Point, aim, fire? But I don't know more than that.

[She sometimes feels as though she spends more time with Natasha than with her own crew. It's not a bad thing, exactly; just that there is so much to learn from this woman, she'd hate to miss a single opportunity.]

[Combat practice? She is so there. Wrath is painfully aware of the facts that a) she is in no shape for close combat and b) every year she only barely made the minimum score with a dmr to stay on active duty. So she better get up to speed quick. Somehow.

So here she comes, leaning on her cane, ready to approach this challenge with a can-do attitude.]

Well that's a relief, at least. But still a good idea. With these bugs attacking, the last thing we need is people injuring themselves, or others by accident.

[The offer surprises her. Mostly because... well, she's a cook, and when most people look at her, they don't see a fighter.]

Actually, it's an energy projectile, as far as I can tell. But the basic result is more or less the same.

Never too young to learn how to handle one properly. Or at least how to deal with them.

There's nothing wrong with hand-to-hand combat, but a ranged weapon can be useful. Especially given current circumstances.

[Meaning the bugs. Kicking bugs can't be very effective. Or comfortable.]
