Who: Nightingale and you!
Broadcast: Fleetwide
Action: Marsiva hospitality deck
When: Now!

[action]

[Nightingale's awakening is much lower-key than most, sitting up in the bed and realizing quickly that she is not where she should be. The best way to cope, of course, is looking around, taking in her surroundings, and just talking to herself.]

Okay... So, this must be a game. Don't think I recognize any space Echoes, though... Whatever, I should figure out the win conditions, first. And hope it's not another 'everyone dies' game.

[she lifts a hand, and a strong wind whips through the area, throwing bedsheets and pillows around.]

Okay, magic's still on, that's... usually a good sign.

[She doesn't seem to have noticed the mess she made. Or maybe she doesn't care. Either way.]

[Having immediately fallen into the assumption that this is a game, Nightingale isn't too bothered by the idea of being able to operate technology she hasn't seen before- it's not like it's the first time, after all. She takes a deep breath, and starts talking to the camera. Noticeably, she still hasn't cleaned up her prior mess.]

This is Nightingale, from Takshaka. I don't know what's going on, but this game seems a bit different. Can you check in with which teams are here? And Roc, Gull, Hawk, Magpie, Togetic, Sparrow, any of you around?

And which Echo is this, while I'm at it? I don't recognize any with a space theme going on unless it's the damn Bone Witch again. If I see that dress or that whale again, I'm going to find a way to leave in the middle.

It mostly depends on the type, really. A lot of them like splitting people into teams, though. Which is probably why we're running multiple ships instead of everyone working on a single one. I think sorting people into groups makes it easier for people to support them, too?

Rather than saying "pit against each other"... Isn't it more like a friendly rivalry? I mean, it seems like what we're competing over are "ratings", so it's not like it's something that can really be gained by fighting each other normally anyways, and we do kind of need to work together to get things done, since one ship really can't handle this kind of stuff alone.

Apparently not having to be here anymore? The rules we've been shown seem really weird for a reality show, come to think of it...

[I never actually thought of questioning whether they would lie about that or not because... What would be the point?]

If I were to put it in words... Rather than having us work as teams with the rest of our crew, it's more like we're working with people that have similar jobs on different ships? And aside from the fact that we get paid for the "ratings" we get, and the vaguely defined prize that seems really out of place, we don't really have anything to compete over?

I would have expected some trivia or challenges or something by this point, but so far there hasn't been much to do other than try helping out on that ship we found and keeping us from getting hit by asteroids.

I don't believe so, but at the same time, cameras have always been getting smaller and smaller, so it's hard to tell whether they're there, or just so small and well-hidden we can't even see them.

Oh! If we had more advanced sensors we might be able to find some evidence of whether there are cameras or not!

...Not that those kinds of upgrades are available for ships right now.

Ah, that's true, that's possible, too. Of course, if they really wanted to make it impossible to get away from the cameras, the easiest place would probably be part of the implants, I guess?

It can put information into our brain though, can't it? Couldn't it be getting information from our brain, too? Like, using our eyes for cameras?

I guess that would be pretty far fetched, though.
