[ Ino looks a little frazzled, but she's all business when she addresses the camera. ]

Hey everyone! An update on the research going on right now. Well, as far as I know, anyways. If anyone has any findings besides what I'm about to say, let me know, I'll add it to the list.

To make this short and sweet, we've figured out that these aliens are pretty damn intelligent -- near to or on par with humans. [ She holds up a hand, as if to shush the people watching ] Immortals and non-humans, please save your jokes about how dumb we are for the end, please and thank you.

Anyways, they're pretty smart, but they weren't really supposed to be all crazy and vicious. So we looked into it and it looks like they've been exposed to some sort of fungus that's severely damaged their nervous system. If you didn't know, that's linked to the brain, and so very much affects how they act and think. We're thinking that's shorted out their ability to think and reason properly. Hence the conflicting violent attitude compared to the distress signal they sent out before.

Soooo, if you haven't put two and two together -- until we figure out the deal with this mold, how to potentially cure the damage it's caused, so on and so forth -- I would not recommend going on the ship at all until we can determine for sure that it's not going to infect us, too. I know there's a lot of interesting things going on on the ship, but you don't know what that shit could do to you. [ A beat ] Seriously.

If you're going to be a stubborn idiot and go on the ship anyways, I'm going to be keeping an eye on the entrance and keep note of anyone who decides to go in, so you can be monitored in the future. You know, just in case this comes back to bite us later, which it probably will, because that's how these things work.

If you've been on the ship and you're worried about your own personal health, or have noticed any recent symptoms you think are off in some way, I'd be happy to check and see if your everything is in order! I'd also recommend drinking a lot of water the next few days to flush any toxins out of your body.

He was... [There really is no good way to put it] He was trying to kill someone else in a blind rage.

He got a lot of bad news at once and...decided to handle it by not thinking at all. I was trying to stop him and... [Yeah. That happened.]

... Oh.

[ That makes her deflate a little. That sounds much more like something Kanda would do. It had sounded originally like Kanda had been sent to kill Allen and be the one to make him disappear ... ]

Hmph. I thought that wound looked off ...

[HAHA no. Though to be fair, he was sooort of the reason why, just saying. But Allen's really not keen on sharing that fact. ]

Ah, yeah. I didn't really know how to explain it without making it sound bad...

[ She gives him a flat look ]

Allen, if you had just said "Kanda got really mad and accidentally stabbed me" I would have believed you and not even questioned it.

[There's a beat as that sinks in. Then he frowns.]

Well that's a little callous, isn't it? I'd be completely alarmed if one of your comrades stabbed you in a blind rage. I mean, the bloody idiot stabbed me! Who does that?!

[I COULD HAVE DIED INO. I COULD HAVE DIED.]

[ino]

Um, Kanda does? That's exactly how he is.

I'm not saying I wasn't -- or wouldn't be -- worried about if you were okay or not! Obviously!

... But the way you were putting it just now before you explained made it sound like he was specifically sent to kill you or something.

[WELL THATS BETTER. Or rather he guesses it makes sense that it does sound rather bad]\

[ She leans back in her chair with a sigh ... ]

You know ... it's really not that bad to talk about the stuff that might be bothering you, right? Even if it's a little awkward at first, it might make you feel a lot better to get it off your chest.

[Oh yes, he knows those words. He'd say it's weird people keep telling him that, but you know, even he gets that he's really bad at sharing at this point]

I know. I'm trying, I'm just-

[Hrmph]

I'm not very good at it.

[ A little smile ]

I know.

I'm just saying -- I'm here if you ever want to talk about anything or if it's bothering you or whatever. You know that, right?

So, if you say you thought it was going to bother me next time, you;ll be in trouble.

[save_the_souls]

[....That smile is utterly terrifying. There's a threat there, and he knows it. It's enough to make him gulp audibly and fess up quite quickly.]

S-since I got stabbed, my skin turns gray. I t-think that's the last thing I didn't mention before for that reason...

[ino]

[ Gray ... shit. ]

It just does it? Like, at random?

Not exactly.

It's more like...I have to will myself, in a way, to look normal. And it's harder to do when I'm tired or injured.

[ino]

So ... you're doing that right now? Making your skin look normal?

[save_the_souls]

...Yeah.

Although it's not like I spend all my time having to think about it. It's practically a reflex at this point.

Allen, did it occur to you that that might have been good to know, like, you know .... for medical reasons? Not necessarily just personal ones?

You think I haven't looked into that myself? That's how I got Dr. House to teach me. He badly wanted an interesting case, so I bribed him with mine in exchange for lessons.

It's just odd colouring! Not aging and the augment keeps it from getting any worse here.

[ She just slumps in her seat and sighs. She doesn't really know what, if anything, she can say or do to make him feel more like he can talk about it, and nagging him about the fact that he didn't this time is probably just going to make him want to even less. :( ]
