Let's go sunning
[Whatever solemnity Diamond had managed to affect in Atroma's last broadcast, it's all gone now. After the little jingle announces her presence, her voice rings out from every speaker with bright exuberance.]
Good morning, dear passengers! It looks like you're all enjoying summer as much as we are, hmm? All that beautiful weather, and... goodness... your summer outfits have kept us all talking. Ratings have been quite good.
[A sigh that definitely sounds on the dreamy, pleased side of things.]
As far as the Shuffle goes, it seems that faces are coming and going at a lazy summertime pace. We've lost one captain this week, but Captain Terran is taking over the helm.
And since there is nothing else to report-- [Because why would she comment on any of the serious topics going on] --it's time for a little fan mail! With children all home from school, summer is our busiest time for letters.
[To prove that there is a letter to read, the sound of unfolding paper crinkles somewhere very close to the microphone.]
"Dear Drift Fleet, I love the show! My favorite ships are the Bishop and the Golden! I hope someone from those crews win at the end. I wanted to know, if the ships were people, what would each one be like? Which ones would get along and which ones would fight? Who would have crushes on each other?"
--Goodness! What a fascinating question. This sounds like one for you to answer, dear passengers. Please, tell us your thoughts!
Remember, the worlds are watching!
[And with that, the signal goes quiet, but the line is left open. Sounds like they're waiting for a response.]

I hate you and everything you stand for.
[Ah. Okay then.]

How do you know it was written by a child? It could have been fabricated by the hosts, even!

Of course, it could be a little kid who just really, really likes you.

You have terrible taste if you think those two are the best ships.

Awww, well thank you little colt-and-or-filly, the Bishop is a pretty happy ship. [If hanging onto sanity by a thread can be considered happy.] Thanks for the support! I'd like to think the ships would all get along if they were people. Like a big, crazy family who gets together once a year to argue over dinner and play a dangerous game of cherades where somepony almost loses an eye.

I'm sorry! I didn't know "animal" was a bad term to use! I just know children like penguins and ponies, that's all!

["Captain" isn't a title he'd give himself, not really one he wants, either. He's used to following orders, not giving them.
He'll do his best, though. But first...]
By the way, her name is Sheena Fujibayashi, and she wasn't just a captain.

But you know, you're gonna make a great Captain too, Clay.

I'm gonna have to think about what all she's done, because I - ["don't think I can do this"] Well. I'm more of a follower than a leader? So I don't know the first thing about being a captain.

[Bright smile.]
We'll crush you next time!
[The fire of competition has kindled in Wrath's heart. Obviously her ship needs to be the best, just like Wrath platoon was the best. It's all friendly anyway, right?]

As for your question... Let's see, I'm still kind of new and getting used to the Golden, so I can't talk about what other ships would be like, but... I'd like to think of Golden as a little awkward and gets misunderstood a lot, but is hard working and does her best!
(2/3)
...Eh? "Why's the Golden a girl?" Isn't that because ships are usually called by female pronouns? Hmm... I wonder why...!
Oh! I think I've got it! It might be because it's protecting us in a dangerous place, like a mom! Moms are pretty strong, after all!
(3/3)
This is Golden's Uzuki Shimamura, thank you for your support, and keep watching! We'll all do our best around here, too!
>> action probably whoop
Ah, that response you put up to the fanmail thing just now was really nice! I almost feel a bit bad about mine now... [He laughs a bit.] Have you done this sort of thing before? Because it really sounds like you have!

[BUT WHAT DID THEY DO WAS IT SOMETHING THEY DID the last major event off the top of his head was that transmission incident earlier but...uh]
Well, thank you for the good wishes, whoever you are! I guess...I'm sure everyone else on the Golden appreciates it too... [This is the polite thing to say right....man he never did get the hang of this publicity thing]
