[For about a week, now, all ships in the Drift Fleet have had clearance to land on the Blue Planet whenever they'd like. The humanoid natives have all been very open and sociable, nothing short of grateful that the Iskaulit is no longer sending pods down to raid their towns and infect their insectoid brothers.

At first, the Nunnilis themselves stayed very quiet, hiding for safety... But as word of a stable cure spreads through the islands, more and more of them have been spotted out in the open. Now, it's not so unusual to spot a couple of them helping with repairs, and many have been assisting passengers in curing their sickly kin.

Have you been looking for a chance to talk to one? A lot of basic information has already been passed through the Fleet, but perhaps you're looking to ask your own questions about the situation, offer condolences, or just get to know a little more about the Nunnilis themselves. They seem perfectly friendly in their own strange, dozen-limbed way, so there's no time like the present!]

[The comparison is a good one and he nods, visibly relaxing a little bit. It wouldn't have been logical to blame the Fleet for the Iskaulit's fate, but that doesn't mean it couldn't have happened anyway. There are entirely too many situations in which the messenger is blamed.]

That will be entirely possible and even welcomed. We've gathered what information we could--and we're happy to pass it over to you--but it is indeed likely you will be able to find more.

[He perks up at the mention of the fungal growths.] There are certain of our crew members who would be of great assistance there If positively identified as the same fungus, our experiments have shown fire as an effective method of neutralizing it. Do you have any objection to that, provided adequate safety measures are followed?

As long as none of the native flora and fauna is damaged, we would appreciate the help. We have also developed a simple acidic solution that works well in areas where fire would be too dangerous, and to help wash up remaining spores after the rest has been burned away.

[then, it spends a moment to hum to itself--a low, thoughtful buzz.]

That would be greatly appreciated. Similarly, we've developed some fungicides; I will have our lab support personnel share the formula and see if it is possible to synthesize it easily with materials you have readily available.
