Eleventh ♠ Video
Who: Allen Walker
Broadcast: Video
Action: SS Blue Fish
When: Today!
[People who've been around the fleet for awhile might recognize the video feed coming from the Blue Fish's lab. Allen's standing behind his usual table, standing a bit...stiffer, than usual. Timcanpy can be found in the background, where he seems to have acquired a small straw sun hat and is using some tinfoil as a tanning screen in front of a lamp]
Hello all. For those who don't know me, I'm Allen Walker, one of the medics aboard the SS Blue Fish. Just a couple things today.
First of all, the bi-monthly blood drive is going to take place next weekend aboard the Blue Fish! If you wish to donate please fill out the form attached to this video. [The form that can be found here] Anyone who donates can be paid in either money or food. If you're interested in volunteering or you have any questions, please contact me. Any vampiric volunteers will not be allowed to sample or work directly with the blood.
Second, while I'm sure many of you are enjoying your time on the warm beaches, please remember to wear sunscreen if you're going to be out there for a long period of time. [He grimaces a little, as if he learned that one the hard way] Also please make sure to keep yourself hydrated, watch out for storms, and use proper precautions if you're helping with the fungus problem.
Lastly, if you're looking for a way to earn money aside from donating blood, remember you can always donate medical supplies to the clinics! Prices will vary on supply and demand, but I'm willing to pay you in either credits or this planet's currency. Right now, I'm sure any sort of sunburn or hangover treatments would be very much appreciated. If you're a lab assistant interested in having supplies sent to your clinic, please let me know.
Thank you everyone! Have a nice day.
[He gives a wave, and the feed cuts out. When the feeds over, he gives a sigh of relief, flops down in his chair and starts...playing that game Crowley made for the network. Yep. That stupid addictive game.]
[OOC: Due to time restraints, the blood drive this handwaved! If you wish to say your character donated, please fill out the information linked above!]

audio;
[Literally only here for the possible promise of food, tbh.]
audio;
Ah- sorry! That's for safety reasons.

[...]
Christ, that sounds weird.
no subject
Actually, it's not that weird. There's a few people with unique physiologies that "stock up" their spare blood supply with the blood drive.
no subject
no subject
Then again, the last place I worked there was a terrible tendency of people bleeding on the communicator when they wanted the clinic's attention - so maybe I've grown too used to absurd blood loss.
no subject
[Who the hell even does that???]
no subject
[There's a pause before he adds thoughtfully]
...The worse was probably the few that'd add glitter to their blood...
no subject
[Congratulations, Allen, the Homestuck thinks this shit is weird af.]
That is one sick fad.
no subject
[He will wear that sentiment like a badge of honor. Except he sounds totally calm, since between this place, Paradisa and being an Exorcist...weird shit is just part of his life really.]
Yes. I'm glad it hasn't seem to caught on here.
no subject
[He suddenly understands everything.]
Figures. I think you trumped the dumbasses at Asgard for weirdness and Asgard was pretty fucking weird.
no subject
[Not even gonna argue the place being called that. It was a shitty wishcastle]
I don't think I've heard of Asgard yet.
no subject
And it's just another dumping ground for wayward idiots who took a wrong turn in their own dimension. Or, well, we were there for a reason and the gods pulled us in on purpose, but here's the heavily abridged version: shit sucked like everywhere else sucked, but apparently we saved the multiverse. Which is cool, I guess.
no subject
I see... [He frowns. He really really hates the idea that there are so many places like Paradisa. Here they had hoped that had been the only world like that] ...Thank you for saving the multiverse, then.
no subject
I dunno, my personal contribution probably counts more as saving my own feathery ass. [Totally not why he went along with it, but he really doesn't deserve any sort of gratitude.]
Jesus, though. Atroma really likes to pick us up secondhand. There are a couple other people from Asgard around, too. Maybe more; I don't know.
no subject
I've noticed that, I've heard of other places too...it makes me wonder how many places there are that take people.
no subject
[Shounen heroes, yo.]
But probably a lot. It's just complicated by the fact no one is supposed to remember shit. Uh, most of the time. Maybe. My results are probably skewed.
no subject
[Not that he's particularly against idealism. He definitely still could be described as an idealist to many. But it was hard to say his time in Paradisa hadn't soured him to all that grandstanding. Not when nearly every time those idealistic words turned out to be nothing but words.]
Yeah. ....I wonder if we'll still remember once we leave here.
no subject
But probably not, if all the times people go back whence they came and only remember when they reappear is anything to go by. I mean, you can't really fulfill whatever stupid purpose the universe signed you up for with all these other memories kicking around. Sometimes shit you were never supposed to know.
no subject
[ Allen was a small picture person, he knew it. His heart went out to what was in front of him. Still. Still - to sacrifice the entire universe was pushing it even for him. ]
...People do seem to forget when they're in their homeworlds....but I'm afraid I don't believe that it's destiny causing that.
no subject
[He'd shake his head if he weren't using audio.]
Anyway. I don't think I'd call it destiny, pretending it does got something to do with why we forget. [In part because he doesn't like saying "destiny" or "fate", however inescapable they've seemed in his own life. It's easier to say he's just "supposed" to do something, instead of giving it a name and making paradox space's bullshit feel too real, too unstoppable, like all the choices he's ever made—foreordained or not—really are irrelevant.] But like there's someone you're supposed to be at a certain point in time, who's got to make certain choices. And most of the time that person's not cut out to make room for this whole other life you had and the person you are now. So everything gets forcibly compartmentalized, to let you make those decisions without getting distracted by who you were or became or might've been.
[He isn't entirely aware he's speaking about his experiences with time travel and all his alt selves. But he sure does have a fuckload to say about it.]
no subject
...Do you realise you're criticising people for making decisions they know, in your words, "jackshit about" - but then you turn around and claim that you need to forget everything you've learned, everything you've experienced- so you can go and make whatever decisions you're supposed to make in ignorance? How is what you're claiming to do any better?
The only difference is that at least those people sound like they were following their heart, while you sound like you're refusing to take your destiny into your own hands.
[That's right, calling you out on your hypocrisy]
This is my eighth year away from my Earth. If I went back with my memories- yes, some of the decisions I would make would be different. I've experienced a lot of things that's taught me to see things differently, to think about things differently.
But all those things I've experienced, all those choices I'd make differently...it wouldn't distract me from my path. Because they are part of the path- the path I've created myself. Being Allen Walker the Medic has become as much a part of me as being Allen Walker the Exorcist. One may take priority over the other depending on the situation, but my heart has room for both.
And if I can do something about it? I'm not going to let go of that. I don't care if it might make my life on Earth more difficult, these memories are mine.

[Davesprite is too surprised to be mad. He doesn't really get called on anything he says—regardless of how badly he may or may not need it—because no one understands enough of what comes out of his mouth. Or they just aren't Jade, and she's sort of given up at this point. So his first reaction is surprise, then curiosity, then a delayed maybe I should be mad?, but nope. The moment is past.
Nah, man, he likes what he just heard, in a fondly nostalgic kind of way. Reminds him of John.]
Ok. [It's not sarcastic or derisive. If anything, it's kind of quietly pleased.] I mean, it's not like I know if any of that is true anyway. But what you said sounds nice. Most people would prefer to believe it. [Which might read like a dig at the idealistic shounen speech angle, but it isn't meant to be.]
no subject
[So. He clears his throat and brushes his bangs behind his ear]
Then...I'll hope it's the true answer. [He doesn't want to think about a life where it wasn't, honestly. Too many heinous implications] ... I always thought places like Paradisa and Asgard wiped memories to avoid detection. Why else would it bother to send people back to the exact moment in time where they left?
