"set adrift on a ship of harmony" - video & action

Who: Nunnally vi Britannia
Broadcast: Video - Unfiltered
Action: Planet-side, on the beach!
When: 7/28 (backdated two days)

[when the video feed flickers on, Nunnally waves. She glances away from the video to survey the scene before her... Such a beautiful beach, a beautiful planet. Her augment is malfunctioning and is partially to blame for her good mood... But the fact that Syeira helped her into a bathing suit (they sent her a ruffly one piece and thankfully a pareo to cover her legs) and her chair is parked on a bit of grass near the beach-- she can't imagine a more beautiful scene]

Good afternoon. [she smiles warmly, focusing her full attention on the camera once more] I spoke to someone months ago, and we both tried to imagine what planet would be the most wonderful to visit. He imagined a planet very much like this one, although with perhaps a bit more entertainment. But the beach is just as he described... I've never seen one quite like it before, it's beautiful.

[her smile looks vaguely fond and wistful for a moment, before she continues] I do hope that everyone else has been able to enjoy the beach while we were here? It's beautiful... and not only that, but the people who live here are wonderful. [she can't hide the passion in her voice]

Their sense of community, working together... they're almost like one large family. They were even kind enough to teach me some of their crafts. [ah, but she doesn't go into detail about that, although she's excited about some of the things that she's making :3]

Mm... has everyone else had a pleasant time? Please, if it isn't too much trouble I'd be delighted to hear about your favorite thing that you've done here.

[or, if in person interaction is more your thing, feel free to come hang with her at the beach :3 she'll be there until sunset... it would be too beautiful to miss out on]

[He almost rolls his eyes at her joke - almost, because his smile betrays his true feelings. If this is his idea of selfishness, well... there are worse things to be selfish about.]

Yeah - but don't strain yourself too hard. I like it almost as much as the lemonade here. [It's said very conspiratorially, as if it's a big secret for him.] If I could take some with me, I probably would.

What about you, though? Is the beach your favorite thing here?

[The city, huh? Stefan mulls it over for a few seconds - it does remind him of the bazaars in Amman, when he stops to think about it. The only thing they're missing are the ladies in burqas...]

I like those too. [They're not his favorite, though.] As long as they don't notice I'm watching.

Did you have anything like that back home?

[For a brief second, guilt flashes across his face - the wheelchair wasn't much help there, he bets. Stefan busies himself with his lemonade for a few seconds.]

I had a few. There were bazaars like these in the city my grandmother lived in, with stalls you could hide behind - but I also had the nurse's station at the hospital. [He hastily clarifies:] Dad used to take me on rounds, and he'd leave me there while he checked up on patients.

Over here, my med lab's my favorite. My crew doesn't drop by often. [Sure, they'll pop in to ask him a question, or get an injury treated, but the space is largely his and his alone to do whatever he likes.]

[He nods in agreement - it was, in hindsight. Alesci had been blessed with a large and loving family, and while he'd whined about them a lot in the past, he misses them dearly. Salvatore, after all, only had a brother and a psychotic mother so to gain dozens of relatives? Who loved him unconditionally?

It was an absolute blessing. At the thought of being a medical professional, though, he tries (and fails) to hold back his amusement:]
Not quite. I was studying to be a doctor back home, but... stuff happened and I wasn't able to apply.

I guess the Fleet decided to give me a second chance at it.

[Under normal circumstances, he'd clam up and busy himself with the rest of his lemonade. But this is Nunnally, and well... after learning how much lying hurts from Elena, he could stand to tell the truth more often.

He shrugs, finally allowing himself to sit down on the grass beside her.]
I don't mind. [Not anymore.]

The short version, my world was going through some rough stuff, and I had to drop out of college to help people. [Stefan takes a gulp of his drink because the thought still depresses him to this day. Even if he came back to finish his schooling.] I wanted to help, but I didn't have much of a choice either. Everyone kinda knew I was Numbered after a while.
