Broadcast 02
Who: Natasha Romanoff and you, flooters
Broadcast: Fleetwide, voice only
Action: Possibly, in comments. On the SS Windrose in Natasha's office most likely.
When: End of the second week of August.
[Some of you might recognize that cool, measured voice coming from your comm. Others might just hear a competent woman with a tone light enough to seem careless, at first, until the words sink in and you find the steel underneath them.]
Funny how some of us just seemed to go a little out of character these last couple weeks. I'd expected some complications from the implant, but personality changes? Seems like an easy way to rig the ratings. Cheap, if you want my opinion, but they don't really ask around here.
I'm Natasha, ship's counselor over on the Windrose. I'll be in my office most of the day over the course of the next week. If you'd like to make an appointment, let me know. I'd be happy to talk with each of you, regardless of your ship affiliation. And, of course, anything that passes between us is completely confidential.
You have my word, for what it's worth to you.
[[ooc: If you'd like your character to take part in Nat's little psychological profiling experiment, please fill out the profile post here!]]

I would like to set up an appointment to talk with you sometime this week. Afternoon would be preferable, but if another time works better for you, let me know.
Thanks,
Beverly
Text
[The dry humor carries well enough through text.]
Tomorrow afternoon, three?
Text/Action
[And at five 'til three the next day, Beverly can be found hovering with uncertainty outside Natasha's door. She needs to go in, wants to go in, but this is hard for her. Even though she likes Natasha and feels she can trust her to be discreet, she wishes more than anything that it was Deanna behind that door, waiting with a reassuring smile.
Finally, though, after a few minutes, she takes a deep breath and knocks.]
Re: Text/Action
Looking forward to it.
[At five til three, Natasha is in her office, in full official counselor mode, more or less. There's a handmade pad of bound paper on her desk, a pen that's more like a bamboo quill than anything. This planet didn't exactly have the best options for writing implements, but it served well enough. Natasha herself is leaning against the front of the desk, left arm in a sling.]
Come in.

[ he's already dating a ship counselor, and he's not quite sure that his particular issues are ones that he feels like talking through, anyway. regardless, he can recognize the gesture for what it is. ]
Things alright over on the Windrose?
voice
I don't think we've met, yet.

Re: voice
I wouldn't say it's useless. Not everyone around here feels comfortable with the idea of magic. Helps to have someone around who can just help set a broken bone, or give you fleet-brand aspirin.
[The sling on her left arm might just be evidence that she's speaking personally, here.]
Pleasure's mine, Tadashi. Which ship are you on?

So you are a counselor then? What an interesting choice of occupation.

[Clearly Wanda's got more than a little idea as to her particular skill set. She'd known the woman was familiar, assumed she'd know at least this much. It's likely why her voice is still pleasant, even if there is a tinge of irony in there.]
Something you'd like to share?
no subject
I am sure you are, but there are some things I would prefer to keep to myself. You understand, yes?
no subject
Of course, the point of this is that they aren't exactly all our thoughts these days, are they? Just one more thing to think about. While you're keeping your thoughts to yourself, of course.
[There's a trace of humor in her tone this time, a smidge of irony. There's plenty Wanda hasn't told her.]

[ He makes a gruff little noise. ] Now I dunno if all that work planetside did me some good or they're just messin' with me.
Audio;
[Her voice is dry, but it's a little more serious as she continues.]
You sound better, either way. I wouldn't look too hard into it. Could always come have a chat, if you aren't sure. Tell me your troubles.

Hard work's got a way of curin' whatever's got me feelin' low, yeah? [ Or at least distracting him enough that he gets some distance from it. ] Might stop by t'say hello, though.

It's a good way to kill an hour, if you like seeing the worst society has to offer wrapped up in smoke and mirrors. There's not very much of it that's real, once it makes it to the viewer, if any of it was ever real to begin with.
Stop by any time. You know it's always a pleasure to see you.
nothing, just VERY LOUD thoughts
Right, like the cure for talking more about yourself than you normally would is to talk more about yourself than you normally would. To anyone, not just Natasha.
And Rogue wondered, as she continued to scroll on by, just what had made her want to do this, and exactly what her word was worth. It made her curious, and succeeded in allowing this particular version of Natasha Romanoff to cast her own shadow in a way their previous encounter had not.]

Re: video;
[She cues up video as well, and her face is absolutely serene. She's finally regained control of herself, at least, even if she can't control her surroundings--though she's working on that, too.]
Not sure what you mean by that. I'm just offering an open ear and an open mind, to those who might need it.

[This is surprising to hear, to say the least. Cassandra would not have expected Natasha to be entirely capable of this type of conversation after their first one. Not that Natasha was short, but she wasn't exactly forthcoming.]
no subject
[She doesn't fault Cassandra for the dubious tone of voice. Their first interaction hadn't exactly been the kind of thing conducive to understanding. She, at least, doesn't seem offended by it.]
And so says the thing in my head. Not sure I trust either of them, but I figure it's something the fleet could use.

I've got plenty of experience talking to strangers, and plenty of experience dealing with unsettled minds. I know how to keep a secret, and when to share my own. Guess that makes me counselor enough, in most senses of the word.
