They're in an empty-ish room on the Iskaulit, it looks like, and Ino checks to make sure the feed is going before speaking up. ]

Hi everyone! Dr. Crusher and I had an idea, we wanted to see if you guys were interested ...

[ She'll glance over to the other woman, waiting for her to speak up ]

We're thinking of setting up a garden over here on the Iskaulit. I know I, for one, could use a more natural retreat from the confines of our ships during longer stretches of travel between planets. I'm certain we could redirect some of the current water systems for irrigation, and there's more than sufficient space here to build sunlamps and the other equipment we'd need. [She smiles.] Unfortunately, while we both have experience working with plants, I'm afraid neither of us are particularly adept engineers.

[ Ino nods along, grinning a little at the very end of Beverly's statement ]

Now, I know there's plenty of you out there who've got the know-how to help us out. Soooo, what do you say? I've already got a decent stash of seeds and stuff that we could start planting right away, given we've got the right light and water conditions. Of course, we'll also gladly accept any donations or -- y'know, help from all the budding horticulturists out there, so on and so forth.

So? Do we have any takers?

Hmmm... I certainly don't object to putting one in! But we'd have to talk to some of the engineers to see if it's feasible.

I don't have any seeds myself but I have some experience growing them. I'd like to volunteer my time.

[True, it's been a long time since she's done anything of the sort, but she grew up in the Green Place, and even just the chance to be around plant life again is something she needs to take.]

Do you guys think you could grow some grass? Because wow do I miss grass. I can't remember the last time I had a hay burger.

I'd say I'd help with the growing but...uh, I'm not that great at it. I was born in the city, so I never really got that normal Earth pony knack for growing stuff.

[Well, Jove is fairly certain that considering their last few interactions she's probably not Ino's favorite person, but if there was ever a call for help she was more suited to answer she really can't think of one.]

I'd be happy to help with the engineering side, and I've got a lot of cuttings and seeds I could bring along to fill out the garden. My quarters are becoming a little crowded.

Oh, really? That would be wonderful! What sorts of plants do you have? I want to start cataloging our available options, if I can, so we can try to set up things efficiently from the beginning.

Can we set aside a plot for vegetables?

[Because Rogue was seriously disappointed that the Blue Planet horded their greenery so religiously... and that she couldn't really see algae as a vegetable. She'd wanted to plant seeds and try to grow a garden, but she wasn't sure they'd be able to do that without UV lights...

If these guys were going to get a garden built, though... surely at some point they'd have to come across a planet that let them have veggie seeds.]

I don't have any seeds yet, but we could make it like... a communal plot. People who put in their seeds an' do the work get ta share the results of the whole.

Of course! Some ships, including my own, have already started growing edible plants, as well as medicinal, but there would be a lot more space over here and it certainly can't hurt to have more food around.

Especially food that's not protein cubes.
