[ so, he's arrived and rogue filled him in on the important details of who was here that he may know - or may yet know, thanks to timelines being what they are. it's the sort of thing he's had experience dealing with before, but it was still annoying. in luceti, no one else had been privy to details that hadn't happened to him yet. if they even pertained to the same version of him - tony was well aware of the fact that there were several other iterations of himself somewhere out there in the cosmos. he's gotten used to it. ]

Alright - so, I'm here. [ does he even need to introduce himself? everyone knows who he is, right??? of course they do. ] Sound off if you think we need to talk and I'll use my flawless judgment to decide if it's worth my time.

For the rest of you, I need to know about switching my augment. As much as I like having my name on a door, I'm not here to help anyone sort out their issues. Believe me - that's not good for anyone. Especially me.

I'm not. I mean, I am - the last place that kidnapped me to another dimension looked like Little House on the Prairie. [ the comparison might be a stretch, but that's how it felt to him. ] But if we're keeping score, this is the fourth time this has happened to me. First time in space though, so, points for that.

[There's too many universes out there, and he's been in three more of these sorts of things before. Bound to have run into another her at some point, and it's better to figure that out now. And anything he has to say about her isn't anything the network hasn't heard before. At this point, the audience has already heard all the important words. Avengers. Black Widow. Agent Romanoff. They've seen her fight, and they've seen her shoot, and they've seen her dance. If Tony Stark can give them something new, it'll be a surprise.]

You're Natasha Romanoff, also known as the Black Widow, also known as Natalie Rushman - great creativity with that alias, there, by the way - Avenger, agent of SHIELD, so on and so forth. You also have never been to said Little House on the Prairie dimension.

[ rogue had told him as much. this wasn't the natasha he'd known there. and after everything that had happened to them? well, probably for the best. ]

[She doesn't blink at the roll call. Natalie Rushman is the only name none of the Fleet have heard, and it doesn't have any meaning here. What it does tell her is that this Tony has been through at least a reasonable amount of the same events she has, and that makes this at least a little easier.]

That would be a no, I haven't. Can't exactly say I'm sorry about that, either.

You drag along any groupies from your most recent field trip?

[ a brief pause, before: ]

No. [ as much as he wishes certain individuals had followed him here, they hadn't. ] Only Rogue. I hear you've met.

[That's actually pretty succinct, for Tony. She does lift an eyebrow at the mention of Rogue, though.]

You could call it meeting, sure. I try to get out, be social once in a while. Beats staring at the walls.

Speaking of being social--you're probably going to see more than a few familiar faces. They aren't all going to be the faces you think they are.

[ a little weary: ] So I hear. It's not my first time at the doppleganger rodeo.

...What's the last thing that happened for you, back in our world? You know, theoretically assuming we're even from the same world, originally. Which we might not be. So - this question might be pointless. But like you said - beats staring at the walls.

How are you with clone sagas? We seem to have a few of those floating around.

[It's easy to crack jokes, less easy to talk about what she left behind five months ago. Even having five months' distance doesn't make it easier--and what if she screws with the timeline? Does it even matter at this point? He's right, they could be from parallel worlds, where things are the same but completely different.]

Gotta come a point where you stop worry about destroying the timeline eventually, right? SHIELD's disbanded, I'm in Senate hearings every day for a month, then I'm here. What about you, before you left to go play in other peoples' sandboxes?

[ his eyebrows shoot up, a look of genuine surprise on his face. ]

SHIELD disbanded? [ evidently, that hasn't happened yet for him - or at least, it hasn't to his knowledge. ] Uh - yeah, I don't know if you were busy, but you might have heard about my little run-in with a gem of a guy called the Mandarin. I sorta blew up all my suits.

[ and she's probably noticed the lack of glow emanating from his chest. that's gone, too. he's a whole new stark, practically. ]
