[Things have been going well for Allen the past month. Very well. And while that was certainly a good thing, he couldn't shake the anxiety that it meant something was about to go horribly wrong. Because you know, because it usually did for him. ]

[So he here was, trying to at least put a few of his fears at rest- especially after this latest round of augment malfunctions. Just what if the next round of malfunctions were less benevolent in nature? In truth - he didn't really expect any good answers. There almost never was when he sought out help. Still, there was always a chance. And at least he'd feel like he was doing something]

[The text post that is put up is anonymous, purposefully typed out not to sound like his own wording.]

i have a question.

is there anyone here who knows about stopping or containing demons or things like them? specifically possessions.

i don't know. i don't remember it happening.

i know it spread genetically? there's a mutation that somehow got into my DNA. and it's...apparently rewriting everything. thanks to the augment its frozen for now, but if it started up again...

A mutation? I know more about that sort of thing... Are you sure it's possession, then? What you're talking about, maybe it could be treated medically with an enhancement or signal block. I mean, I don't know about the tech here...or if ether would help...but I could try to scan you.

You can scan on the genetic level? What's a signal block?

Not anywhere near the level of an Observation Realian, but I've been surprised before on what it's caught. Lots of unknown variables here, so I couldn't promise anything.

I say signal block, but it's more like re-programming. You could use nanites to intercept the mutation and mimic it, tricking it into thinking it's still spreading while the nanites mutate harmlessly and observe it. It mostly buys time until the nanites can learn more. Someone would have to know what they're doing, though. Nanotreatment can be dodgy.

I don't know. I've never even heard of nanotreatment before...

[Paradisa had more advanced medicine than his home, but it still wasn't THAT far ahead in general. Still, the explanation makes sense to him. If it were possible...]

But it's worth looking into it. It sounds better than being shoved into a pool of lava. [Seriously, the hell Pearl]

And you're getting credit! The nanomachine idea is a good idea if there's a way to do it!

Yeah well don't go looking up surgeons in back alleys or anything. Come get me if you do find someone who knows a thing or two about nanotreatments so I can at least translate for you.

What would they do in your time period?

Yes, Jr. [Said in the same way one would go "Yes Mother" because seriously Jr. he knows to look out for shady doctors] I'll bring you along if I find any back alley nano-surgeons.

What would they do? [He takes a moment to think, it's been awhile] I think they do hangings if they want to execute someone. [Something like that] But for someone like me, being locked up and experimented on is probably more likely.

[Which is a bigger fear for him, really. He wouldn't put it past Central to have some idea about getting a Noah under their control, as insane of an idea as it was.]

...Yeah. I get that. Back home, the general public would flip out if it was known that any URTVs were still alive, let alone that they're running the Kukai Foundation. Talk about bad press.

[Allen is momentarily surprised, seeing Jr. open up a little like that. Sure. He knew a lot about Jr. But that was over the course of years. Hell, even he didn't know a lot of details about Jr.'s life to this day.]

Do they dislike URTVs that much?

[Allen had trouble understanding why someone would dislike Jr. Sure, he had the capability to be dangerous, he supposes. But Jr. was a good man. Maybe a little hotheaded and violent and- Okay so he understood why some people might dislike Jr., but only for his personality and not the URTV thing. And those people suck anyway.]

[The question Jr. asks throws him a little too. It's...not a question he gets asked all that often. He knows it's because he tries to downplay it when he tells people, or because people are afraid to ask or they simply don't think so. Either way, the question is rare enough to actually get the truth.]

...Yes. My head hurts. Like there's something in there that shouldn't be. And the feeling spreads when I'm tired. If it's really bad, I start getting feverish. But that's not very often...and I'm pretty used to it.

[He looks down a little] Honestly...it's been so long, I barely remember what it's like not to feel like that.

[ And not knowing which details Allen may have retained or not, he knows he should be careful. But with what he already knows, it couldn't get any worse, right? Maybe it could but this guy is a walking time bomb himself, how fantastic. ]

They'd be scared of us. Hate us for that. ...They'd have every right to. Fifteen years ago, an entire city...planet lost it's mind. Realians and URTVs did the most damage...on their own kind. On innocent people. It was an unbelievable massacre.

But that was a long time ago and you don't need to hear it. Right now I'm the only URTV around here and I can't sense U-DO, so it's not an issue, but what you're describing is really eerie. It sounds a lot like what I've heard happening when U-DO has infected people.
