( She's not really sure what to make of this, though she'd been fiddling with the communication station mostly to ensure she knows how hers works on her own ship. There's also the cuff...link... but that's not currently of as much interest. This brief moving snippet of picture she knows is a video (thank you, augments), leaves her curious over what in the world she just saw. )

No, I don't really have any pets, couldn't afford 'em.

( None of this is for Ella, but the information she has from the augments that make her able to pilot give her that knowledge, and some magical awareness makes it less starkly difficult to confront. She's not sure how to switch settings, so for now she's stuck on video, looking a little perplexed and considering what she might have seen instead. )

Oh, I apologize, I'd thought I'd seen a tail of one before things went dark.

Yes, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be rude. I didn't realize - right. Yes. Most peoples I know of don't have tails quite like that.

( Not among gnomes or ogres or giants or elves, at least. )

[ He shakes his head, but remembers she can't see it anyway. ]

It's a pleasure to meet you, Cyril. Did you have a friend with you at the time that you were making your initial address to the group? Things did go dark very suddenly.

[ Offers a sort of uneven smile. ]

[ At least he can answer that quickly enough. ]

I mean, I think we're friends, but it's hard to tell sometimes...you know?

I think I understand what you mean. It's difficult to tell sometimes with how people act, and why they do what they do.
