pathstone mingle!!
Who: The Pathstone + anyone!
Broadcast: nah
Action: yah!
When: lets not go asking questions okay
[Do you know what's weird and probably a sign of things to come for the entire fleet?
The Pathstone isn't the most useless ship anymore. It's actually good at stuff. It's got upgrades! It's got a pilot and two people to shoot guns at things. And two captains.
It's not just Captain Tek. There's two.
It's still a pretty big mess who are we even kidding. Come see for yourself!!]

Composing a very long sonnet about how wonderful daisies are.
[She nods at the wrench to prompt him to at least look at the stupid tool.]
If you would be so kind?
no subject
I'm sure you have plenty of time for poetry later.
[or whatever else it is that she's doing.]
Or, you could find someone else who is eager to help, to take care of it. There are offers going out all over the comm, you know.
no subject
You know that I'm the engineer on this ship, right? Wouldn't you rather live in a ship that works properly?
no subject
[he lifts and drops his shoulders in a dismissive shrug.]
I know other engineers. I'll get one of them to work on it.
no subject
Why would that be necessary? I'm perfectly capable of doing this myself, Tek, I don't need someone else to do it for me.
[And she'll just waste time putting the metal sheet down so she can go to the tray herself if he's going to insist on not helping.]
no subject
[...and if she's going to head over to the tray, he'll just casually wander over to the space that she's abandoning... so he can pick up the piece of metal instead, to lazily inspect it.]
And it would give you time to focus your attention on other things.
no subject
In any case, maybe he'll actually help now that he's more hands on, so she waves the wrench towards the space where that metal sheet is supposed to go.]
Would you hold that there, then? It'll go faster and then you can tell me what I should be doing instead of my job.
no subject
Your job is to mind your crew, isn't it? Haven't you said that yourself, before?
no subject
Alright, Tek. What do you need?
no subject
he almost asks her if she's really sure that she has time to address the concerns of one of her crewmates, just to annoy her that little bit more, but ultimately opts not to. and it probably says something about how off he's feeling that he declines, and answers her question on the first try.]
I don't feel well.
no subject
Are you sick? I don't-
[Wait. Fuck.]
Is this like last time?
no subject
and it just makes him feel better to think that maybe she might feel bad for not taking him seriously off the bat.
he doesn't fight her away and reject her help, this time. he lets her feel for the slight fever he has going-- though, he does squint a little in discomfort.]
Good question.
no subject
Is there anything I can do? Herbs didn't help last time, but there must be something.
no subject
[and there's a pause--where he maybe stops and changes what he was going to say--and switches it out for a sigh and a pained sort of smirk.]
...Actually. Do you have anything for a headache?
no subject
[She's pretty used to dealing with headache symptoms because of Cullen, but that's certainly not something she's going to say out loud. And anyway, she gave Cullen his own mint plant, he won't miss what Jove uses to help Tek feel better.
And hopefully he's following her down the hall to her bedroom. This isn't weirdly familiar or anything.]
no subject
so, nothing to wonder or worry about at all.]
no subject
How long have you been feeling poorly?
no subject
[and he wanders in as silently instructed--taking the moment to glance around and take notice of... who knows what. just gathering up what visual details he can hoard in the span of seconds, really.]
...The headache is new, however.
no subject
There's still the same worktable she had prepared his medicine at before, and she goes straight to it to start preparing his tea.]
Is there a reason you didn't say anything about it before now? You've been suffering needlessly this entire time.
no subject
[he shrugs, facing her with hands in his pockets. as if none of this was worrying him. as if he wasn't feeling upsettingly unhinged over the whole thing. as if it was all fine.]
I was hoping it would go away.
no subject
It doesn't have to steep, so just drink it now. I hope you like mint.
no subject
...It tastes like a puddle.
no subject
It isn't meant to taste nice, it's meant to make your head stop hurting. Breathe in the steam.
[Satisfied he's going to take her instructions, she turns back to sort through the small vials collected on the table.]
The oil you'll massage into your temples and forehead. It may tingle, but that's normal. Ah, here it is.
[She'd been starting to worry she was out, but now she hands over a small vial with the word mint printed in a neat script on the side.]
Just a drop for each place should do. If you run out, I'll make more.
no subject
And what if some other place on my skull is hurting?
no subject
You can use it in other places, but it's going to do you the most good on your temples. Where else does it hurt?
