pathstone mingle!!
Who: The Pathstone + anyone!
Broadcast: nah
Action: yah!
When: lets not go asking questions okay
[Do you know what's weird and probably a sign of things to come for the entire fleet?
The Pathstone isn't the most useless ship anymore. It's actually good at stuff. It's got upgrades! It's got a pilot and two people to shoot guns at things. And two captains.
It's not just Captain Tek. There's two.
It's still a pretty big mess who are we even kidding. Come see for yourself!!]

The only problem with that is sometimes it means she's got both hands holding a piece of metal to the ship and no free hand to reach out for the tool she needs. Luckily, her ship is (mostly) filled with helpful people.]
Can you hand me that, please?
[She wants the wrench, but who even knows if she's gonna get a helper or a troll. Who even knows.]
no subject
But that would interrupt my schedule. I have to keep it to the second.
Plus I don't want to.
no subject
Your schedule of engineering strange and useless games, how could I have forgotten.
[She's too stubborn to ask him for help twice, so maybe she can just brace the metal where it is with one hand and try to reach with the other... maybe it's within range after all.
But nope, her fingertips just barely brush the tray she's got everything laid out on. Good work Crowley you ruin everything.]

[Crowley sighs, moving his hand to adjust his shades, but the tray seems to slide a little closer to Jove in the process.
She saw nothing. ]

he just stands there, hands lazily in his pockets, eyeing whatever she's doing with some amount of criticism.]
...What are you doing?
no subject
Composing a very long sonnet about how wonderful daisies are.
[She nods at the wrench to prompt him to at least look at the stupid tool.]
If you would be so kind?
no subject
I'm sure you have plenty of time for poetry later.
[or whatever else it is that she's doing.]
Or, you could find someone else who is eager to help, to take care of it. There are offers going out all over the comm, you know.

Not terribly. [She's just trying to make sure they can avoid dying in the black void of space, nbd.] I didn't know you were coming over.

Duke does blink once to make sure that yes, he is the only one nearby. But yes, it is just him, so he indicates the wrench and does some little tugging movement and it floats toward Jove. ]
This one?
no subject
Did I know you could do that?
no subject
There's a shrug. ]
I haven't had a need to use more things than I have hands for, so... likely didn't come up.

[Cassandra at this point has gotten fairly familiar with the tools needed for making repairs on the ship. Having an engineer for a girlfriend is helpful for that, who would have thought? She bends down and pulls out the correct wrench from Jove's toolbox and holds it out for her. She also places a hand on the piece of metal she's currently supporting.]
You are making quite a bit of progress with the repairs.
no subject
There wasn't as much to fix, this time around. I suppose I should be thankful for small favors, but I can't help thinking it only means something worse will happen very soon.
no subject
We should be prepared for worse, but not expect it.
[It's a terrible mindset to adopt. One that easily breaks the spirit over longer periods of time.]

also--completely unrelated, of course--your captain is in a bad mood.
curled up either at the table near the kitchen, or whichever of the seats on the bridge that he's deemed the most comfortable, Tek is attempting to read some skinny, dusty tome from the library. unfortunately, the rest of the crew makes sounds.
it doesn't matter if it's something irritating like fidgeting or rustlings about in the kitchen, or something as innocent as walking quietly by, it's getting under his skin. and, whoever it is, they eventually get snarled at from where he's sitting.]
no subject
He turns his head slowly to look at Tek. ]
Gesundheit.
no subject
--Ugh, would you keep it down?
no subject
No.
[He moves to lounge in the seat near to the dragon. ]

no seriously, Robin has snuck into the Pathstone again, because things are now OK with everyone and he found something he'd meant to give to Tek a while ago... he shows up in the kitchen, plastic bag rustling as he sets it down in front of the dragon; he's oblivious up until he's leaning against the table and actually gets a look at his face.]
...Bad time?
