[It's been a whirlwind day for Kurt Wagner. He was emotionally raw from a traumatic event when he woke up in space. Kurt had arrived on the day of the shuffle and had been doing his best to try to keep a low profile. People aren't always the most acceptable of a fuzzy blue mutant who looks like a devil, after all. And he'd managed to pick up the basics, at least, between what encounters he had on the Marsiva, while managing to be lucky enough to avoid the network.

His luck ran out once he was shuffled onto the Huntress. The video feed catches an unsuspecting Kurt Wagner tinkering with his watch and being increasingly frustrated with it as he keeps prodding at it.]

Come onnn.... Why won't it work? Oh man!

[ooc: Of course, if any other new characters want, they can alternately run into him before the Shuffle, anywhere on the Marsiva. Choose your own adventure!]

[Mostly throwing that one out there because of Kurt's fuzzy deal. Like how can he deny that, even if "time traveling bird" still sounds preposterous.]

Can he turn into a bird? Is he a burd cursed to look like a person? Was he a bird in his past life, or feels like he has the heart of a bird? Is this some weird slang he never heard of... The possibilities are truly endless.]

[Davesprite is still on audio precisely because he's used to weirding people out with his appearance—even if a blue dude should technically take it better—but hey, this inquiry works either way.]

A bird as in I'm a feathery asshole who dispenses plot deets for a living. Or did. Kinda over that line of work, now.

I've got no idea what a plot deet is, but... sure, why not? I'll take it. [He still feels like he doesn't know much of anything, but why not just roll with it.]

Ok, no, if we gotta be real, I was probably more like the annoying fairy that follows you around and tells you "hey, listen!"

I dunno, "kind of" makes it sound like you're feeling conflicted about it, dude. It'd be like me saying I guess I'm "kind of" ok with cats.

[The only Raven who comes to mind is his former principal, Raven Darkholme.

Who, of course, turned out to be his now-dead mutant terrorist mom.]

Raven? Um... I think you have to be more specific, man. [He's hoping he's referring to someone else... he can't think of any other Ravens he knows, though.]

She's like our age, assuming you're actually a teenager and not an ancient relic of times long forgotten and dead. Or something dumb like that. She had the blue look down. [That's the most obvious one.]

I guess she was usually a shapeshifter? Dunno if I can get more specific than that.

[He doesn't get the whole relic talk, but he quickly forgets it too. As the description goes on, Kurt's look grows more worried and apprehensive, and then he sputters out an answer.]

Mystique?!

Uh. I have no idea if that's a yes or no.

[It's a little cautious. He wasn't really expecting a reaction like that and he'd never heard Raven use the name Mystique.]

I... I think so. [He says that a little weakly, not sure how to begin to explain everything to him. But, he does go on more demandingly.]

We were in another of these shitpiles. Same premise, different story.

[This is the highly, highly abridged version, but no point in getting bogged down by details.]

She showed me a couple of her tricks. I showed her a couple of mine. [...] She was pretty cool.

[She made him feel cool. Even if they didn't know each other well, he'd always remember that.]
