[HE COULDN'T RESIST OKAY]
What about dancing then?
no subject
[But... oh. That question makes him straighten back up, a bit caught off guard by that.]
Uhhh... [He scratches at his cheek with a sheepish smile, a blush coming up on his cheeks.] I - Kind of, yeah. I just don't do it... much?
no subject
[That answer catches him a little by surprise, and he'll straighten up to look at Clay curiously. Was he...bashful about dancing? The guy who walked around the moon with two hats on and no regrets? Really?]
Hm? How come?
no subject
[There's a small pause as he grips the edge of his visor, purses his lips, and just decides to tell him instead of hiding like he usually does.]
School dances. They were the worst. You're at that age where you feel like everyone's watching everything you do, you know? And I guess I never grew out of that.
no subject
I see. [He gives a little nod] I think I understand that. I've never been to a school dance- but the castle would have balls and I'd get dragged into going. [Usually by Lenalee, or Ino] Usually I'd sneak out by climbing down the balcony.
no subject
Ha, really? Apollo and I used to sneak out if the option was available, just bail and go stargazing instead. Not as exciting as climbing down a balcony, but still an escape!
no subject
I don't know- stargazing with a friend still seems exciting! Most of the time, I'd just go back to my room after I escaped. Not exactly thrilling.
no subject
[He grins at him, teasing, before he goes on]
If the sky was cloudy that night, we'd just sit and talk about things not dance related instead. Space, the law, what went on with our day, geek stuff... We never got tired of just talking for hours.
[Yeah, he still misses Apollo, so bad it's practically bone deep. It's hard being best friends with someone for ten years, knowing they're only a call or a bike ride away at all times, only to suddenly be light-years away with no hope of contact.]
no subject
[He suspects that party pony himself. But whatever. He tilts his head a little as he listens to Clay. He's had friends like that- where you could talk for hours about anything. There was...nothing else like it]
That sounds nice...you must miss him a lot. From the way you talk about him, I'm sorry I didn't get to know him better when I had the chance.
no subject
[Yep. If a ball happens, Allen is totally gonna be the one to blame. At that next part, he smiles a little as he looks down at the floor.]
Yeah... he's pretty great. I've got him to thank for being who I am today. If he didn't come along when he did, I'd probably still be that quiet person I told you about.
[He sighs as he crosses his arms.] You know, when I was going to go to space back home, I was guaranteed contact with everyone. We had a way to have video chats with the people from Earth, or we could post to social media websites with pictures and texts, whatever. It's something I was guaranteed.
[He tries not to complain or think about it too much, but...]
no subject
But now you're out here, and we're completely out of contact with him and everyone else on Earth.
[He could say some optimistic idea, or...]
That's bollocks. I'm sorry.
[Say it for what it really is. Because really? He's pretty sure Clay's optimistic enough on his own to figure stuff like letter writing out]
no subject
The sentiment gets him to give a half smile, and he leans his head over to rest it against Allen's. It's definitely appreciated.]
Yeah. It's total bollocks.
[... Please don't judge him for completely butchering the way that word's pronounced, he doesn't say it often alright]
no subject
[There's a beat.]
[And then he's cracking the hell up. Holy shit.]
no subject
Clay blinks and leans away while Allen's having his laughing fit over there, and though he's not sure what caused it, he still ends up smiling because laughter is contagious.]
What? What'd I do?
no subject
[okay, he calms down the laughter and clears his throat. Then, in his "best" impression of an American Accent, he'll try to say it just how Clay said it:]
"It's total ball-lacks."
no subject
I wasn't that bad! Right?
[He straightens up a bit, still laughing, but leans in with his hands at Allen's waist while he first over-pronounces, then goes back to the butchering]
Booooollllluuuucks! Bollucks bollucks bollucks bolluuucks!
no subject
[And that sends him into another fit of snickers. Jesus Clay you goofball. But he'll at least try to talk between laughs]
Clay! You're going to make the entire crew hear!
no subject
no subject
I think that was implied when I agreed to be your boyfriend, Cowboy.
no subject
In that case, Starlight... [He lowers his head to press a kiss to the inside of Allen's wrist] I'm glad you like me enough to care about my dignity. [And a playful wink to go with it!]
no subject
I-
uh-
[Stay cool, stay- NOPE you can practically see the blush forming across his nose and his voice even cracks into a squeak on the next part]
Y-Yeah! I- O-of course I do!
[Dignified]
no subject
You look like you're about to go all supernova on me!
no subject
I do not!
[He's not even entirely sure what a supernova is- but he does not on principle!!]
no subject
You totally do!
[His laughter is, at least, dying down to something fonder and quieter instead, as he lifts his free hand to cup the side of Allen's neck, thumb stroking at his cheekbone. It's so cute!]
And I care about you, too.
no subject
Can we just- can we go to my room? You can bring the stereo, just-
[Argh. This is embarrassing. ]
