01 ❀ video
Who: Flora
Broadcast: Fleet-wide Video
Action: Marsiva Only
When: Dec 10th
[The first thing she does with the communicator after learning its functions is go through the network archive. She doesn't read everything exactly, but the fact that she hits the end of it relatively quickly is both a good and bad thing. It's less to sort through, sure, but it also means it's less to know and that means she's at the relative start of something, with no telling of when it'll end. As much as she tries to keep it buried there's a sort of weariness about her, for a moment.
She was going home. And now she's somewhere else.
But it's not anybody's fault here, she won't take it out on them, and so she tries to smile, instead. It's small, but it's there, but the rest of her is tightly-wound. She sits primly, her hands folded in front of her (how is it that she's not holding her communicator?), but it's stiff. It's not something that would be out of place, formalities aren't exactly loose, but it's too rigid for her. There's not an elephant in the room, so much as dagger tips on all sides, and if she even breathes incorrectly, she'll regret everything.
She does not want to be here.]
Hello, everyone. My name is Flora, it's nice to meet you all. [Even if she wishes it were under better circumstances. Like not being kidnapped again.]
I must admit, this is not where I expected to be. [Perhaps the greatest understatement of all time(lines).] But since I'm here...I wonder if anyone's heard of Exsilium. [She really hopes none of the Dan, her other friends, or anyone's here. They've all been through enough.]
For those of you who've been here a while, do we ever go anywhere? [Her fingers tighten for just a moment, but her voice is calm and even, unwavering.] Other planets, I mean. And, would anyone mind indulging me some conversation? We can talk about anything you like, but I would like to talk about magic for a start, please, and if you're at all familiar with it.
[She could use the distraction, but she is also a very curious creature by naturehahaha.]
One other thing, please, if you don't mind: Does anyone know where they're keeping our belongings? Among other things, I had a lot of plants on me at the time, and some of them are--[she rubs an arm sheepishly, and frowns slightly. How to put this delicately.] ah...a little wild. I'm worried about them.
Thank you.
(action)
[It was a struggle not to fall to pieces from the moment she first woke up to sterile ceilings and scents, different though they were, they were still far too familiar for comfort. But those memories she could bear. Ambient technological sounds and her own footsteps were her only company as she stalked through the halls, but when she saw a viewing portal into that endless infinite nothing, that was it. The scene changed, and Flora stood, rooted and transfixed, before the memory of something vile and alive were on her tongue and she only just made it in time to the bathroom to be sick.
She managed not to make a mess, but she felt revolting, and showered until the water ran freezing, all the while wondering why. Why here, why here of all places, why why why.
--
Time passes and she doesn't find anything or anyone. She makes sure she understands her communicator correctly, but doesn't trust herself to speak to anyone at the moment.
She doesn't see about food.
While she doesn't have everything she had on her at the time, she does have some nail polish and a little bottle of acetone and cotton swabs, and so she finds a place, well away from the viewing bay and with her back facing it besides, and carefully attends to her hands. The smell of both are strong, and she relishes it. It keeps everything else at bay.]

video;
[ it's said off camera and there's a bit more of what sounds like metal falling on metal before the communicator is retrieved and Lloyd appears on camera again. he's sporting a small forming bruise on his forehead, but otherwise he looks okay. ]
--Sorry about that. I think I should probably clean up back here... [ even though it's actually pretty neat. not that Flora can see. ]
action;
Hey! I heard a crash- everything alright in here?
action;
he tries to say "m'fine!" but it comes out as more of a groan than anything. whatever, Kaneis can probably understand what he meant through the door. maybe. ]
video
Lloyd, are you okay?
action/video;
[But uh yeah, he heard that groan and it's not reassuring. He makes a slight face before he pushes open the door and walks into the engine room. Ugh. He wanted to avoid going in here if possible. But Flora can definitely hear his footsteps and his own voice sounding closer]
Lloyd?
action/video;
when Kaneis walks in, he'll find Lloyd on the floor, communicator in one hand and his other hand on his head. there's a pretty big mess of tools and parts surrounding him - with some of it on him - that clearly wad upright moments ago.
he looks up when he hears him, attempting a reassuring smile. it's not working. ]
Hey! Sorry about that, I just kinda... [ a pause. ] Tripped.
Video
It's a slow flurry, though, she's actually pretty calm despite her very concerned face.]
I'm so sorry! Are you okay? You didn't break or sprain anything, did you? How's your head? How many fingers am I holding up?
[She's holding two up, by the way.]
Action/Video - FOREVER!!!
...Flora. Calm down. Healer over here, remember?
[HE CAN HANDLE THAT STUFF. He kneels down and starts moving some of that metal stuff that's on Lloyd off the guy.]
Anyway, Flora said this was her fault? What exactly happened?
4EVER!!!!!!!
that plus a potential concussion, but whatever. ]
I'm fine; it was my fault, anyway. We were talking and I wasn't paying attention, so I ended up tripping over some stuff.
[ shooting a glance to Flora's image in the communicator, he lowers his voice to a whisper. he's not sure how much of an influence Mithos has on Kaneis, but he feels it's important to mention anyway. ]
...I think she knows Mithos.
5EVER!!!
[She just can't really see what's going on, it's not doing much for her anxiety, but if Kaneis is on the job, she can relax. She has faaaaith.]
1/2
What- [His head shoots up in surprise with a freaked out expression probably visible on the communicator too, since he wasn't expecting to hear that name anytime soon.]
no subject
- Ow shit! [He bends back over again, holding his head with a pained sound] Warn a guy, will ya!
[If he means about dropping mentions of Mithos or the presence of metal pipes he could bang his head on - who knows]
no subject
except he wouldn't want to will the wrath of these pipes so he's instantly up (and ignoring the pounding in his head) to try and steady Kaneis and move him away from those pipes.
Flora, this is like prime time entertainment right here. ]
Crap-- sorry! You okay, man?!
no subject
She just winces, before putting her hands over her mouth, like gosh. That really looked like it smarted.]
Kaneis, are you okay?
[are you guys gonna make it out of the engine room in one piece good grief ]
no subject
I'm fine. [He rubs his head some more. It's still throbbing, but he's been smacked in the head more than enough times to worry about it]
[Well, at least not worry about it when there are bigger issues at hand. Which he'll eye the feed on Lloyd's communicator VERY suspiciously now]
Just how the hell would you know Ygg- [He stops himself, c'mon Kaneis. You can say Voldemort's name] - Mithos?
no subject
Umm... Okay.
[ but no he'll just ignore that and look back to the communicator along with Kaneis because he's curious about that as well. INQUIRING MINDS WOULD LIKE TO KNOW FLORA. ]
no subject
Mithos's last name is like her favourite part, fun fact. You know, what with that whole tree thing and all. But she has the awareness not to say it.
but who knows, maybe he just can't say it. like lawkamercymeBUT WOW, sure feeling like an interrogation, almost. okay, not really, but this attention.]He was in Exsilium, Kaneis. We talked about magic, and he's the one that told me about Summon Spirits. But I don't understand, you're both really tripping up over him.
no subject
[And oh. Right. That realization dawns on him]
Exsilium- [He grimaces as he rubs his head] - Right. I forgot he was there for a little while.
[But hahahaha yeah he's not answering her query there. N O P E ]
no subject
[ understatement of the century. he doesn't elaborate further on it, mainly because he doesn't know if Kaneis's history with Mithos is the same as his own. those darn alternate dimensions.
and now he's looking back at Kaneis because umm he feels out of the loop here guys. ]
And... Kaneis, what's Exsilium?
no subject
[Wow, this is, well this is a bit of a development. She might not know what it is, but she can read the depth in his tone. Flora's mouth quirks and she looks like she wants to say something else, but perhaps she should just keep that to herself. Nobody really wants to seem to talk about him, so she'll let it be?
also you feel out of the loop, lloyd wow]
no subject
[But he'll look away from the communicator to look at Lloyd]
Remember those guys I mentioned before? The ones who grabbed people to fight in their war? They were called the Initiative- and Exsilium was the city they were at.
Flora was one of the other people the Initiative grabbed.
no subject
and at Kaneis's explanation, his mind is reeling. well, at least it explains how she knew him, but there's still something off... ]
But, seeing Mithos there... That should be impossible! [ HE'S KIND OF DEAD??? ]
no subject
[Like, well, both of them, but details.]
Basically, "impossible" wasn't really a thing there, typically.
no subject
Yeah and, there's...a chance he was taken when he was alive. Couldn't tell you for sure really, I stayed clear of him.
[What with not wanting to take any chances with the known psychopath and all]
no subject
pulling people from different times? from death? the former he could probably understand, but the latter shouldn't be possible. death is supposed to be the end. bringing people back to life is just cruel and unfair for all parties involved, and these people did it without any remorse.
he can feel his internal temperature rise just thinking about it. ]
So those guys can also take people from different times and even from death...
[ he growls, his free hand scratching at his head roughly out of frustration. ]
What the hell! Did they get their hands on Origin's power or something?!
