[Hello, Fleet, there's a fearsome-looking suit of armor peering at the screen- though right now only one of his eyes is visible.]

So this is like a telephone or a radio, right? Except there are pictures and words on it, too! I really like it!

I'm Alphonse. Uh, don't mind how I look- I wear armor for protection. [Al wasn't under any delusions that he'd be able to keep the fact that he was hollow inside a secret for very long- he never seemed to be able to- but he was going to try.]

Brother, are you here, too? Major Miles? ... Winry?

[Action, on the Marsiva]

[There wasn't much Al could to do make himself look less conspicuous- he'd accepted that long ago- but here, in this unfamiliar place, he wished more than ever that he could. The Homunculi had eyes and ears everywhere in Amestris, and he had to be working under the assumption that they were here, too. He could only hope that they wouldn't be putting any innocent people in danger trying to find him.

He was also worried about Edward. He knew his brother would be fine in the storm, watched over by Major Miles, but what would happen to him afterward? And what about Winry, May, and Dr. Marcoh? He could care less about Scar, but he'd gone out to try and warn them that Briggs was unsafe, and now there was nobody to deliver that message.

Of course, if he kept blacking out... if this was it, if his soul was going to let go of his armor body... he might not have been able to get to them himself anyway.

Al let out a sigh. At least the view was pretty. Stars were everywhere.]

If that armor's durable, you'll probably just have to find some coatings to put on it. Seal it to make it watertight, and stuff like that... [ His voice is kinda absentminded. He's going into engineering mode again. ]

That's show business, I guess. There's nothing we can really do about it...but it's annoying.

That's a good idea! Water can be a real problem- even just a rainshower can put me in danger of rusting.

[He nodded.]

It is. I can't understand people who would do such a thing, but they do exist.

[electrostatics]

You'll probably find the materials for that on board the ship you're on. Or you could try shopping where we're docked for this month, I guess. They'd probably have something. [ Heck yeah, dustmoons. ] Augment'll probably help you work out what's best.

I'm really looking forward to getting on a ship- and traveling. I was never outside my home country back home. [He nodded.] I'll have to figure out what I've got, since I don't seem to know anything out of place yet.

What kind of ships are you used to? Spaceships are pretty clean sailing compared to ships on the sea. Less bumpy, from what I can figure out. [ There's sandskiffs, but those aren't really worth mentioning. ]

It gives you basic information, at least. I guess you'll know sooner or later when you wander into your relevant territory. [ So helpful. ]

I haven't even been on a sailing ship before- Brother and I tend to travel by train, car or foot most of the time.

I hope that'll be soon! I can't sit and stare at the stars forever.

Sounds like you've never been traveling by yourself before, either. Guess this is going to be a lot of new experiences for you. [ His operator was the younger brother, too, though what had led to his independence...

Well, he's never had much luck with brothers. ]

They'll shuffle you onto a ship eventually, then you'll be much closer quarters with people. Treasure the privacy.

I haven't- it's always been me and Brother together. We've never been separated for very long before, even when we were kids.

[He nodded.]

Well, I hope I'll fit in! I'm sure I'll be able to adapt- and I'll be spending a lot of time studying this new technology.
