Who: Octavia Blake & Open
Broadcast: Everyone
Action: Moon or Wonderduck
When: Broadcast, evening of Oct 16; Action, whenever
[The feed that pops up is originating from a basic (and boring) room above one of the old timey buildings on the moon. Octavia's lounging on the cot, tossing a baseball sized object up into the air, then catching it, not really looking at the comm.]
I gotta admit that the past two weeks-- or however long since I got here-- have been pretty damn long. Back home, there was so much more to do. [The ball goes up in the air.] Not in the entertaining way [And down again.] but stuff we had to get done. Hunting, scouting, building, repairing, you get the idea. It was one thing after another, the days went by in a flash.
[She catches the ball again and sticks it on the small side table by her cot, sitting up at the same time.] Pretty much, doing stuff for fun wasn't on the agenda, so I'm kinda at a loss here.
[Octavia huffs, blowing a bit of hair out of her face, before finally looking at the comm.]
I guess suggestions are welcomed if anyone wants to toss one my way. [Her boots tap the floor for a moment.] Also, I want to keep learning combat. So far, I've gotten decent with a sword, but I don't want to stop. Unarmed is good, too. Honestly, whatever's fine. I can take a beating, and I'm a quick enough study. I can't pay right now, that'd be later, unless favors or chores work, too.
[There's a pause, where she considers something.] My name's Octavia Blake. I'm security on the Wonderduck. You can find me there or on the moon for now if you want. That's it I guess.
[She flashes a sheepish grin before cutting the broadcast. Feel free to run into her on the ship or moon, whenever.]

Hey. I'd invite you in, but it's boring as hell. Wanna head downstairs?
no subject
Certainly. It's a fine bar.
[Mostly because it doesn't smell of piss and vomit TOO much. ]
no subject
[Octavia flashes him a grin as she closes the door behind her and makes her way to the stairs.]
Come on, it's on me. Room, board, and the occasional serving for helping out around the joint isn't bad.
no subject
[He's trying to be funny, but it's hard to tell with the tone.]
I wouldn't say no to that, at least. And you're right, I find working on the planets and moons we visit more lucrative than sitting idle.
no subject
[She going down the stairs, so she can't see her face. But the scolding is very obviously in jest.]
Have anything you want special?
no subject
[Yeah, he';s trying to be funny. All monotone and everything. ]
Not especially.
no subject
[Reaching the bottom of the stairs, Octavia nods towards a door before going through it. They'll emerge behind the bar counter.]
Okay, I'll just take a guess. [A bottle of this, a shot of that, a couple things are grabbed and placed on the counter next to a glass.]
no subject
Be my guest.

[She's pouring and dotting some random ass things into the glass. Really, there's no semblance on sense here. Octavia finishes stirring the thing and slides it over to him. Somehow, it's a greenish yellow and a little syrupy in consistency. How even...?]
Meaning you have to try this without complaining. [She grins, and it's clear she's well aware of the potential for disaster.]
no subject
If this tastes dreadful, I'm holding you personally responsible.
[He'll take a quick swig of it. It better not taste of ass.]
no subject
You can't take back the sword no matter how gross it could be. Just putting that out there.
no subject
Lucky for both of us it's quite pleasant, then.
no subject
You serious? How'd that happen?
no subject
[Siiiiip. ]
I have drunk much worse. This doesn't have rat dropping in it or dead flies or anything of that ilk.
no subject
[She wrinkles her nose and recoils at the sound of that.]
Disgusting. It'd be a challenge to make something worse it sounds like.
no subject
[Or put fish in there. Fish are disgusting. ]
no subject
[She doesn't really care either way, but if he does offer it up there, Octavia won't refuse. It's not her stash, anyway.]
Anyway, hand it over. I want to try. [A stool os quickly dragged over so she can sit, still across the bar from him.]
no subject
[He's joking. Probably. Maybe. He'll hand it over.]
Be my guest.

[She grabs the glass and doesn't hesitate to tag a swig. Almost immediately Octavia makes a face like she's about to vomit in her own mouth. Luckily, she has slightly more tact than that, opting instead to spit it out in a spray that covers a good portion of the floor behind the bar.
She'll clean that up later. A sound like a groan and pained mutter escape her, and she slides the drink as far away from her as she can, lips still pursed.]
God, I swear your taste buds must've been burned away in the time leading up to this. That was vile!
no subject
I imagine the Hanged Man had a lot to do with that.
no subject
Ugh, the guy in charge should be the one hanged! [She spits more on to the floor because why not, finally locating a bottle of what's probably beer. Octavia takes a big drink of that, grimacing, but nodding to herself. Better.]

Stupid tavern names aside, I figure I'm good to ask about the sword now without seeming too rude. Let's see it.
no subject
Here. Perhaps it will suit you.
no subject
[Octavia reaches for it, one hand to the hilt, the other to the sheathe. Over and over it's turned in her hands before she draws it, eyes pouring over it as she does so.]
