resnipstance: unsure, eyebrow raise (22)

(no subject)

Who: Ahsoka + you
Broadcast: Video (fleetwide)
Action: Common area of the Marsiva
When: Afternoon? Evening??

Has... anyone else been having weird dreams lately, or just me?

Also, what do people do for fun around here? This is the longest I've ever been cooped up in one place. At least if there was something to do...

Anyway, I'm sick of meditating. If anyone wants to come chat or keep me company, I'm sitting in the living area. Does anyone know if they have a dejarik board around here? I'm not much good at it, but it's a good time waster at least.

Oh-- right. I'm always up for a spar, too... if you think you can keep up.

How well are you remembering these dreams, by chance?

Hmm... I am as well. In fact, I remember everything like it happened while I was awake. Yet, other people I have spoken with have no memory of the dreams at all, or only vague recollections. But I can't for the life of me figure out why.

Not that I've discovered. The only thing I can figure is that it's some sort of technical issue with the augments. Perhaps the nebula's interference did even more to disrupt Atroma than we realized.

no worries!

Oh! I'm sorry, I didn't realize you weren't here for that... before Atroma brought us all together on the Marsiva, we were on individual ships in a fleet. Our fleet was attacked by another and driven into a nebula which disrupted all our navigation systems, communications, gravitational systems... anything electronic, except for basic life support. Many people even had glitches in their augments, which is why I believe our captors brought us here.

The augments are connected to our neural pathways and have been known to cause hallucinations before. It isn't entirely inconceivable that their recalibration would produce these dreams... though I'm certainly open to other theories.

No, it's not a mistake, I'm certain of that. Just because they might be side effects of the calibration doesn't mean they are unintended or unwanted side effects.

I sincerely hope not but... as unpleasant as the thought is, it is a possibility.

Back home are you able to somehow manipulate space and time in such a way that you can pull people from multiple different universes without anyone in that universe noticing? Because I know beings who can, and it has very little to do with technology and more to do with evolution. I suspect Atroma is more akin to them than to you or I.

[She nods, then gives Ahsoka a small apologetic smile.]

I'm sorry, I don't mean to sound dismissive: I just don't want us to make the mistake of underestimating Atroma and what they can do.

And I'd sure love to know their motivations... [She tents her fingers thoughtfully.] Tell me, were you just... in your own dreams?
dancingmd: (listening)

[personal profile] dancingmd 2015-11-11 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
[Beverly nods slowly, her suspicions confirmed.] Somehow, we're sharing one another's minds. I've seen inside other people's dreams - whether I wanted to or not. And, I remember other people from the fleet in mine, including people I have never even met or seen before.

Exactly. It doesn't matter if people have anything to hide or not... it's the principle of the thing. And I don't particularly appreciate being made an unwilling participant in the invasion of someone else's privacy either.
