Has... anyone else been having weird dreams lately, or just me?

Also, what do people do for fun around here? This is the longest I've ever been cooped up in one place. At least if there was something to do...

Anyway, I'm sick of meditating. If anyone wants to come chat or keep me company, I'm sitting in the living area. Does anyone know if they have a dejarik board around here? I'm not much good at it, but it's a good time waster at least.

Oh-- right. I'm always up for a spar, too... if you think you can keep up.

What did they break your faith about?

Just... the stuff I mentioned earlier. [Ahsoka shifts awkwardly, considering whether or not she wants to get into this now.]

... I was ... framed for a crime I didn't commit. Terrorism, sedition, treason and murder. The Jedi Order operates independently from Galactic Law, so ... the Senate put pressure on them to expel me so I could be tried in the Supreme Court as a civilian.

I grew up in that Order. They're the only family I've ever known. The Jedi Code is sacred to me. I fought in their war for three years, without question. I thought they stood for-- for justice, for morals and goodness.

But when I was framed... none of that mattered. Nobody would listen to me. They preferred to bend to the pressure of the Senate rather than stick to their own Code. [She tries to keep the bitterness out of her voice when she says that, but she fails miserably. The wound is still too fresh.]

The Code might be sacred, but people will always figure out a way to corrupt things and screw things up.

... I guess so.

It's just... the Jedi are supposed to be neutral. Independent of the Republic. But... it's clear to me now that that's not true any more. Now they answer to the Republic. And... I didn't see it until then.

I hope you can change things.

... Me too.

But even if I can't... I'll settle just for helping others.

I'd say you could ask me advice on how to incite a revolution but to be honest I think I just tripped into it.

Believe it or not, I actually... already have a bit of experience with that.

Last year, I was assigned a mission on a planet named Onderon. The planet's ruler had decided to align Onderon with the Separatists at the beginning of the war. But the people of the planet were beginning to find the Separatist presence oppressive and their ruler corrupt. We were contacted in secret by a band of rebels, asking for our help to aid their rebellion.

And you did?

... The Council initially voted against it. They said that the Jedi could not condone training terrorists.

So Anakin made a case for training the rebels in ways they could overthrow their government without resorting to tactics that would bring unnecessary harm to the civilian population. How to defend themselves against droid attacks, how to lure the enemy out into the jungle, how to turn public opinion against their leader. That sort of thing.

Do you think neutrality is the right way to do things?

It has to be.

How we conduct ourselves, how we wage war-- that's what sets the Jedi apart from soldiers.

At what point does it just support the way things are?

... I don't know.

I get not wanting to be soldiers, but not every side is worth being neutral for.

No-- I get that. And we do take a side, often, especially when there's a miscarriage of justice. But there's a difference between taking a side and purposefully turning another otherwise relatively peaceful planet into a war zone. We have to walk that line.

[She still uses "we," even though she left. She can't help it.]
