So far it's mostly just been stuff relating to the Force or the Order.

What kind of force. What kind of order. These are both hells of vague terms that trump the shitty made-up video game terms in my life.

And the Order is the Jedi Order. Nobody here has heard of that either, though.

Oh, nice. I have a friend around from the same reality as me. Which maybe doesn't sound like much when we don't exactly have a shortage of Earth-originated life forms about, but I guarantee most Earth peeps are from alt universes.

People here keep asking me where I'm from, and all I ever want to say is "Why even bother asking, it's not like it's going to mean anything to you."

Well for starters... I'm not really a Jedi any more.

I grew up in the Order. And I was a padawan for several years. But I ended up leaving a few weeks before I woke up here. So. There's that.

Is this a good or bad thing.

It... depends on your perspective. Maybe it's a both thing?

But you asked where being a Jedi put me, so I had to answer honestly.

Ok. Kinda wasn't sure because on one hand, it sounds like being a Jedi is a big deal.

On the other, if you chose to leave, maybe it's not all it's cracked up to be.

Being a Jedi is... it's an important calling. But it's not something you can just do half hearted. It's a way of life, you know? You have to be completely dedicated to it.

And I didn't feel like I could dedicate myself to it any more. That's all.

Well, no. But I used to be a knight before I quit. Wasn't ever the most dedicated to it, but the rest of the universe liked to make it sound special.

I-- I still think being a Jedi is special. It just... wasn't how I thought it was supposed to be.

Uh, it's complicated. And kind of lame, to be honest. I guess part of it's that I had to quit, and it was easier if it was on my terms. But, mostly, [and it's almost a little embarrassed] I don't think I was that great at it. I mean I'm not even sure if I even wanted to be a knight in the first place, or if it was out of a warped sense of obligation to what I felt I had to do. So, after the way it turned out...

It doesn't really matter. Once I played my part, no one really needed me anymore. So I quit and let the next guy take over.
