[At least two weeks have passed since the Drift Fleet passengers woke up on this strange wing of the Marsiva... Some new passengers have even joined the group instead of being Shuffled off to a fleet ship! The large monitor in the central room remains quiet for now, so how is everyone holding up?

Have you been relaxing? Enjoying the Earth media? If you can even remember them, how have Calibrations been treating you? Has anyone started getting a little stir-crazy?

Don't worry... This ship has no shortage of mysteries, and you'll be seeing a few more soon.]

Well -- not right this second, I'm in the middle of making some food. [ She laughs a little good-naturedly, nodding towards the pan in front of her. It's got some meat sizzling in it for now. ]

But maybe you've already seen them around! How long have you been here for, anyways?

Only a few days, [ she answers, though now she's a bit distracted by the food cooking in front of her. ]

Oh — I did meet Nanako already. [ only through video, but. that counts, right? ] Lovely girl.

Ah, that's right! Nanako-chan is super cute, isn't she? She just got here recently too.

[ She notices Weiss looking at what she's cooking, though ... ]

Ah -- are you hungry? I made enough to share.

[ weiss has the grace not to look ill at the thought. ]

Oh — no thank you, I'd simply been curious. [ her diet tends to be... far more sparse. ]

It smells great, though. You must be a wonderful cook.

I'm alright, but ... Are you sure?

[ She looks at the food, and then looks at Weiss ... ]

Oh, do you not eat meat?

[ It's either that or she's on a diet, and she isn't about to suggest the latter since Weiss looks very nicely proportioned to her ]

Not really, [ weiss admits, though she at least looks apologetic about it. she doesn't... eat much of anything, tbh. but whether or not that's a diet or a personal preference is up in the air, thanks rooster teeth. ]

Oh, well. If there's anything else you want me to make just let me know.

[ She'll be pushing the meat around a little bit, checking to see if it's done, before glancing back to Weiss ]

So where are you from, Weiss?

[ weiss thanks her, kindly, but is mostly just thankful she isn't actually that hungry at the moment. still, she lingers, because she figures downtime is as good as any to get to know her supposed leader. ]

Remnant, [ she says, but she's long since given up trying to find people who know of it. ] But before this, I was similarly held captive in another realm called Cerealia.

So you're already used to the whole annoying kidnapping multiverse thing, then? No wonder you seem a lot more relaxed.

I'm from a village called Konoha -- [ Which is said in a similar way -- either you're from there, or you have no idea where/what it is ] -- but before coming here I was in a place a lot like this called Paradisa.

[ ah. relaxed. or rather, """""relaxed""""". yes, weiss is quite good at keeping a level head when she's not alone. but behind closed doors... well. there's a reason there's a video feed of her screaming into pillows, after all.

but hang on a sec — something ino mentions strikes up something familiar in weiss. ]

[ she smiles faintly, recalling a... friend. she tries to ignore the pang in her chest — she hadn't realized she could feel homesick for a place she never quite considered a "home."

though she supposes it's not the place that she's missing. ]

Rock Lee would often speak very fondly of his home.

[ ... She laughs a little, both out of surprise and out of -- of all the people for her to meet ... ]

You met Lee-san, huh?

He can be ... kind of a handful, but he's a good guy.

[ she bristles, but only slightly. once upon a time she would have said the same thing. but distance can change a person, it seems. ]

He was, perhaps, one of the warmest people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting.

[ Aww. Is that a crush you got there, Weiss ... luckily, she didn't meet Ino back when she was sixteen and probably would have gone "Oh yeah, isn't that guy weird"?

She's got a little wry smile on her face, though ]

You said you met in "Cerealia", huh? ... He wouldn't have happened to mention what he remembered last from home, would he?

but it could have been. if she'd had the chance or time... anyway. no use getting caught up in things out of her control. ]

I can't say for sure, no. He... tended to talk quite a lot. And emphatically.

[ She lets out a little sigh. Two people she'd met in the last few days now knew her friends, and none of them had anything to say about what was going on at home. She had to wonder if that meant it was bad news for them, too. ]

Figures. Oh, well. Thanks anyways.

[ weiss watches her a little carefully. ]

Were you hoping to hear about something in particular...?

We were in the middle of a war, last I remember -- so I was kinda hoping I'd hear about how it's going. Or went.

[ She'd be more worked up about it, but she's been waiting on news -- or anyone from her world period -- for almost three years at this point, so ... ]

Oh... [ that's certainly pressing. all weiss has got to return home to is a school dance... ]

Well — I'm sure you've heard by now? The promise that our worlds' time stops while we're here. Of course, I don't know how much weight you want to give that but [ wait, wasn't she supposed to be reassuring here ] but I'm sure it's fine.

Oh, yeah. [ She waves a hand ] It's not that I'm worried that I'm going to miss anything. I was just kinda hoping someone would show up from the future to tell me how it went, since I haven't been home in forever.

How long has it been, if you don't mind me asking?

[ino]

Uh --

[ She usually tries to avoid this question, but it's not like it's a weird thing to ask after what she just said. ]

--Well, technically, it's been eight years, but it's kind of complicated.

[ She's quick to follow up, though: ]

That's really unusual, though. Most people will go back within a year, so don't worry.

[ that beats out allen by a year, but if that were true, then ino would have been at least nine or ten when she'd been taken and and

weiss puts a hand to her forehead. ]

How have you not yet gone crazy?

[ Yeah, there's also the whole looking way younger than she is thing, oops. But she'll get into that another time, or at least whenever Weiss asks about it.

She lets out a little laugh, though. ]
