At least there's no elevator music...

[At least two weeks have passed since the Drift Fleet passengers woke up on this strange wing of the Marsiva... Some new passengers have even joined the group instead of being Shuffled off to a fleet ship! The large monitor in the central room remains quiet for now, so how is everyone holding up?

Have you been relaxing? Enjoying the Earth media? If you can even remember them, how have Calibrations been treating you? Has anyone started getting a little stir-crazy?

Don't worry... This ship has no shortage of mysteries, and you'll be seeing a few more soon.]

I met Bluebird at the interdimensional shithole I was at before here. She was my teammate. Basically our team leader, but she'd deny it as hard as she could. She was really strong in a lot of ways.

Ah. That sounds like a difficult situation to be in. [crushing on a teammate and all.]

It sounds like there were a few good things about the other place you were at. [but wasn't it a free-for-all orgy sort of place?]

A few. Some of the people were good. That's really it.

[Of course, she's completely unaware she's given Michiru that impression of the castle, or how that line sounds in that context.]

This place must seem tame in comparison.

[Hilariously, she's also died twice. In her previous game, anyway- She died a couple dozen times at home, but that's just the job hazards that come with being an RPG character.]

Though if the bloodbath were going to happen here, I think it would have started already.

Well. [here's a particularly sobering thought]

The death of a character makes a much greater impact if the audience has had a chance to become attached.

The audience can't see us from here. I've confirmed with the Atroma that they're not broadcasting us while we're here.

... Though I doubt there ever is an audience.

That's one thing to keep in mind. [trusting them is another matter entirely]

You've mentioned that before. [the no audience thing] What makes you so sure?

There's no way to verify it. There's no cameras, any planet we go to has never heard of this show, the audience letters are read to us by the Atroma. Plus, they lie or obscure the point on basically everything, so why would they be honest about that point? If they wanted 'reality' in this, wouldn't it be easier to not tell us? We'd have absolutely no way to conclude there was a show, so we'd be acting a lot more genuine.

It's more likely they're using the show excuse to pacify people and hide the real reason.

Reality might not be quite as interesting as acting. [then again, she doesn't watch enough TV in the first place, much less reality TV.]

Of course, that applies to people who want to be on such a show. Either way, I suppose they have done a good job in making us paranoid.

[as for real reasons, she can think of one or several that pertain to her own corner of the universe, but finding the motive in getting everybody else involved is trickier.]

This isn't paranoia, this is just basic suspicion. Wait until they start running games, then I'll show you paranoid.

[She shrugs lightly.] I just don't think we should trust any words that come out of their mouths until we've verified it.
