[Castle hadn't noticed it before, but all of a sudden he'd become very, very aware of a mechanical hum inside the walls. He figured every ship had its own unique background noise, but this was something different. Oh, finally, something for him to investigate! He wasn't sure it would get him very far, but it was something.

All throughout the week, people could find Castle pacing the hallways like a restless tiger, trying to locate the source of the noise.

Or, perhaps, fellow engineers or maintenance folks could find him attempting to remove a wall panel, or tinkering with what was inside, or else carefully transcribing what he was finding onto his device.

Anybody else with an augment that didn't fit? Well, that's up to you.]

I think my memory's starting to go, folks. I'm getting a serious sense of deja vu when I walk the hallways every day, but damned if I know what's setting it off. Like I know something should be there, but there's a big blank. Just me?

[Trying to remove a wall panel, Castle? That's one way to go about it. A slow, methodical way.

Rick has a quicker plan, though.

Castle might hear footsteps fast approaching from behind him. Rick's running up with a bucket of something, ready to throw the contents.]

Hey, move. [He doesn't really wait for an answer, so hopefully Castle is quick enough to get out of the way -- because Rick is basically just throwing metal-eating acid at the wall to quickly get at the shit underneath without having to go through the painstaking process of, you know, unbolting some bolts. Shortcuts! Science!]

[Castle's learned by now, thankfully, that moving when someone tells you to move is usually a good idea- and in this instance, thank GOD he did duck, because holy crap is that acid???]

Well, uh... that's one way to do it. ... where did that acid come from?

Letting the bucket drop with a clatter, Rick moves closer to the wall to poke around at the insides.]

[Castle then tilted his head and leaned in. There was a lot going on, alright- a lot of mechanical parts.]

I definitely see it. I wonder if it's safe to touch? I'd hate to suddenly cut the oxygen or something...

[Um, he did give you a heads up, Castle! He told you to move. It counts.]

Oh, yeah, that'd be a big loss. Sure would hate to cut our imprisonment short. [THAT'S A LOT OF SARCASM in case you were unsure.]

[As the proud owner of a personnel augment, Cayde got nothin. He comes around the corner to see Castle pacing. He watches quietly for a few moments, perplexed, before approaching and trying to find out what's so interesting.]

I swear I can hear... some kind of hum. [Castle is distracted as he speaks.] Mechanical, wasn't there before. Want to find out what it is.

Well, I mean, all ships got their own voice. This ain't your ship, right? So maybe you're just now noticing it singing a different tune?

Yeah... it's just weirding me out that I haven't noticed it before. I mean, we've been stuck here for weeks now.
