Chapter Two [video]

Who: (a glitchy) Richard Castle and you
Broadcast: Fleetwide
Action: Marsiva hallways
When: All week

Action

[Castle hadn't noticed it before, but all of a sudden he'd become very, very aware of a mechanical hum inside the walls. He figured every ship had its own unique background noise, but this was something different. Oh, finally, something for him to investigate! He wasn't sure it would get him very far, but it was something.

All throughout the week, people could find Castle pacing the hallways like a restless tiger, trying to locate the source of the noise.

Or, perhaps, fellow engineers or maintenance folks could find him attempting to remove a wall panel, or tinkering with what was inside, or else carefully transcribing what he was finding onto his device.

Anybody else with an augment that didn't fit? Well, that's up to you.]

Broadcast

I think my memory's starting to go, folks. I'm getting a serious sense of deja vu when I walk the hallways every day, but damned if I know what's setting it off. Like I know something should be there, but there's a big blank. Just me?

They'd almost have to be, to fit our individual neural patterns, especially when you've got several different species on board.

As well as age and medical condition at the time of capture... there are a lot of factors that they’d have to take into consideration when implanting us.

I was wondering the same thing, especially after these calibrations. If they can expose our memories so thoroughly.... perhaps the neural interface allows them to know everything we have ever known.

Oh yes, I am so comforted.
dancingmd: (what do you know about this girl?)

[personal profile] dancingmd 2016-01-22 04:10 pm (UTC)(link)
So... [She switches off the tricorder, since they aren't really talking about the wall panel anymore.] Are you trying to win this thing?
dancingmd: (arms crossed)

[personal profile] dancingmd 2016-01-23 04:49 pm (UTC)(link)
They claim the prize is going home... but I'm not sure I believe that.
dancingmd: (head tilt)

[personal profile] dancingmd 2016-01-26 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
And people have come back too... so is the prize simply that you go home for good, we'll never bother you again?
dancingmd: (tricorder)

wrap?

[personal profile] dancingmd 2016-01-28 03:51 pm (UTC)(link)
I hope so too.

[She holds up the tricorder again.]

Come on, we have some more to explore, right? We should get down as much of this as we can, so we can study on it later when things aren't so... stressful.
