[The broadcast begins before he's really awake.

He is a scruffy man of difficult to determine age, wearing black pants, a white (ish) shirt with the sleeves rolled up and a black tie that seems redundant since it's loose and his shirt isn't buttoned to the collar anyway.

He comes awake with a deep inhale and eyes flying open, flicking around him. They're perfectly normal brown eyes that lock onto the communicator fast.

Rolling from the bed, he vanishes from view. There's some muttered cursing, sneezing and then the click of a lighter.

When he comes back into view, the cigarette is tucked into his mouth with ages old familiarity.]

I better be able to fucking get more cigarettes on this tin can.

[Maybe less Sabertooth and a bit more Wolverine. There's something slightly wolfish about his movements. But, still, predatory.

That drops when he sees the nearly empty container. He shoves his face in his hands and just seems like a very tired man.]

Fuck. Fucking fuck when I fucking find whoever the fuck is denying me smokes I'm going to rip their fucking arm off and shove it where the sun don't shine.

[It might sound more threatening if he wasn't just mumbling into his hands. He looks back to the screen and huffs slightly.]

Shit. I have twelve. But I've been promised they're the worst fucking cigarettes in the world and you probably don't want one.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news mon ami, but be tough times 'round here for smokers. Don't even have 'ny chewin' gum 'round the place to help with the cravin's.

[Although, that was an interesting through and a possibly chance to get some.] 'though if 'ny of the sponsors out there be listenin', I be more than happy to promote ya product for a shipment of it, just drop it off at the Wonderduck, when we get out of this current merde that be.

[Remy then refocused on Bigby.] I would normally offer to share, but considerin' they be a rare currency 'round here, goin' to hoard onto mine as long as I can. Been told that now 'nd then we do get a chance to stop off on planets, might be lucky 'nd find a supply at the next port we find, that or ya goin' to have to get 'nventive with what ya wrappin' in ya papers.

If it helps, where ya be now does have coffee, so make the most of that, not all of the ships have it. 'nd got a few of the guys talkin' 'bout openin' up bars, so hopefully alcohol will be back on the menu soon too.

It's not the cravings. I don't get them. It's the smell.

[This place smells. Of too many things, all at once and he hates it. He could get used to it, probably, but it'll be an uncomfortable experience.]

Shit. People here can probably be affected by the smoke, right?

[It's not an issue with Fables. But these are mostly Mundys. And Mundys can get sick.]

Coffee is always good, but not much help for the smells. They got a decent whiskey on board?

[Huh, is that so, iiiinnnnnteresting. Remy filed that information away for later on, in case it would be of use in the future, but kept on the path of conversation.] Take it other things don't give do the same job, hein? Not that there really aromatherapy options available either. Might have to consider breathin' through ya mouth 'til ya find something to work in place of the smokes.

[As for the other items.] Donno so much on the drinks side just yet, everything kinda got turned 'round the last month or so. Would say keep an ear 'nd eye open for two guys by the name of Crowley 'nd Varric, they the ones tryin' to corner the drunken market.

[Under the circumstances, Bigby sees only limited use in keeping everything about him under wraps. This whole thing is closer to something from the Homelands than the Mundy world.]

Crowley and Varric, right. Got descriptions to go with the names?

Haven't actually run 'nto them in person yet, despite all bein' stuck on the same ship, current company excluded, just saw them once from my own welcomin' call out to everyone when I arrived here. Been kinda distracted gettin' use to bein' stuck in a metal can flyin' through outer space to get too friendly with 'nyone bar those on m' own ship.

[The second question he can answer however.] Name's Remy LeBeau, 'nd ya would be?

I don't know what ship I'll be on, yet.

[He presumes that he'll be notified in some manner about it, when they get around to it.]

Nice to meet ya. [Yep, that name was rather fitting now Remy heard it, with the semi feral stare he had gotten at the news of their limited nicotine stocks.]

'nd a good ear ya got there, that I be. [Was it safe to assume that Bigby was from a universe where America existed then? At least enough for Remy to assume he was.] Where do ya hail from then?

Most recently, New York City. Manhattan, Upper West Side. I've travelled a lot.

[But he has a flat accent that doesn't seem quite from anywhere.]

[That wasn't quite the question Remy asked, but he didn't pry into it, leaving the man's answer where it stands, for now.] That so? Was up there not too long ago for work, [Well, 'not too long ago' was in his universe, not so much the almost two years he had spent being imprisoned by different aliens.] If ya 'gnore all this alien stuff that be. Guess it be longer now I think of it.

[No, it wasn't what he asked, but it's what he's getting. Bigby's lived in New York on and off long since it was New Amsterdam.]

Lived in Salem briefly when I first came to America, then moved to New York for work. Been there ever since.

Not a bad place to set up in, plenty of 'nterestin' folk, 'nterestin' places, provided ya can find them. Then again, kinda curious ya would go for such a populated area with that super senses of ya's. [Ok, it was possibly calling Bigby out a bit on this, but the man himself had brought it up. Call it more fishing, in an not so subtle manner.]

[He says it very deadpan, like he can't believe someone would use those words.]

[There was a chuckle from Remy's side at Bigby's reaction to the wording.] Apologizes mon ami, those words get thrown 'round pretty easily from the world I come from. Gotta lot of super powered 'ndividuals runnin' 'bouts, heightened senses just be one drop in the big ol' meltin' pot of them all.

And you? Are you one of those?

[This answer will decide a lot of things Bigby might say.]

These ain't contact lenses, [Remy motioned to his own eyes.] 'nd as well as makin' me look 'mazin', oui, they come with a power.

There be a few 'round this place like that, different reasons for them. Some born that way, others gainin' it from trainin' or other ways. Not that unusual, considerin' all the universes we got crammed 'nto this space.

[Bigby lets out a slight breath. Not a Mundy. Or rather, not the sort of Mundy that he needs to hide from.]

Our... community, it's in the city. I'm the Sheriff, so I have to live there.

First rule of the community. Don't let the Mundys know anything.

I get what ya mean. Wasn't too long 'go from the place I was taken from that mutants, people with powers, got outed. Got a lotta hate thrown our way since then. Easier to stay hidden if ya can.

For the most, don't have it too much here from what 've seen so far. Goin' to still have the occasional assholes who goin' to have issues, but ya get that everything 'nd that their problem not ours.

We can't let them know about us. We're not from their world. And we sure as fuck don't want to end up curios for them.

Mind you, be fucking easier if Colin would stop running away from the Farm to crash on my couch.

[But onto an issue that may be weighing on Bigby's mind.] Look, I ain't been here that long, so may not be the best source of 'nformation, of but if this place be 'nything like the last one I was stuck at, once ya free of this place ya should head back to the same time ya came from, so they won't be without ya. [If he was their protector then Remy could only assume Bigby would want to know his people are safe, and that he was there when they needed him. It was a heavy weight to keep on your shoulder otherwise, constantly thinking of what could be happening while being held prisoner here.]

[Bigby frowned slightly, not following.]

Every family got one?

[It's a bit of a relief. He doesn't want to leave Snow handling the government transition on her own.]

Ah, I mean, one that's always stirrin' up trouble. Don't worry 'bout it. [Remy waved the comment off as it was hardly important.]

'til then, well, try 'nd 'njoy yaself. Not much else there really to do after all.

Ah, Colin. No. he's not family. Well, I guess he is, in a way, but we're not related.

Shit. Well. Guess that's all there is to do.

Give me a yell once ya get settled on a ship, can see if we can find those hommes tryin' to set up the bars, 'nd hopefully a way to fix our nicotine issue.
