[ Oh look, it's a mingle!

Check it out - the ship sure is a lot shinier now, huh? So, did we all get shut up in The Marsiva and do all that crazy crap just so they could give us some glittery, sparkly things? Hmmm...

New crew members - welcome aboard! This is a good chance to meet everyone, now that we're back in one place. Any visitors - make yourselves at home! Have a look around. Stick around as long as you like.

After what everyone just went through, surely everyone's got at least a little something to talk about, huh? ]

[ Yosuke's walking onto the bridge right when she asks that question, and he cringes a little. Yeah, about that...

He sighs audibly as he makes his way over to her, shakes his head and crosses his arms in front of him. ]

Yeah, uh... we used to. But you need someone security augment to have weapons, and our guy who had one just... left the fleet. So, no weapons for us. Which sucks. I really hope nothing bad happens anytime soon...

[Ahsoka swivels around in her chair to see him as he approaches]

What? But that's ridiculous! I'm a veritable spaceship weapons expert! I've fought on cruisers and in space fleets for years. A little ship like this wouldn't even be a problem! They should just give us the weapons anyway.

[She shakes her head.]

What a disaster...

You're a weapons expert? Seriously? Oh man, now I really wish we had weapons!

[ Another sigh. He seriously hates Atroma sometimes, you know? ]

Well, uh... sorry that we don't. Maybe we'll get 'em back one day. You know, if they decide it'll be good for the stupid TV show or whatever. [ He rolls his eyes. But then, he tries for a friendly smile. ] I'm Yosuke, by the way. Welcome to the Starstruck.

Not all weapons. Just the ones that come on spaceships. I've been flying and fixing babies like this one for years. So you're in good hands, I promise.

Worst comes to worst, I can probably out-fly any enemy ship that tries to attack us.

That's way better than what we had before. [ And the relief is very, very evident on his face. ] Dude, you're a lifesaver already, and you only just got here.

[ He's... getting there. Sort of. jdklfa Bear with him, he's still new at this. ]

[She's trying not to let her skepticism show on her face... and failing.]

[ Aw maaan...! He winces at her reaction, but it's clear that it's what he expected, pretty much. And probably still what he feels he deserves. ]

I know, I know... I'd never even really seen a spaceship before I got here. Just like... movies and stuff. [ He sighs, runs a hand through his hair. ] You should've seen me when I first got the title... But believe it or not, I've gotten better. With a lot of help, of course, but. You know. That's what crews are for.

[ He even smiles at that - fondly, warm. Seriously... Everyone, particularly Peggy and Wanda, have been so fantastic. ]

[Ahsoka gives him a good long look for a long moment, like she's carefully taking in everything about him and can't make up her mind how to feel.

Well, Stefan did say he was a good person, so... finally, she crosses her arms like she's come to a decision.]

Well, I'd be the last person to judge ability by age or appearance. [Translation: you don't look like much.]

So long as you know when to ask for or accept help from others, I don't see a problem. [That's how you learn, after all.]

[ Well, backhanded as that compliment may be, it's still better than outright scorn, so... Whatever, he'll take it. He nods, absolutely firm. ]

Yeah. I know. I'm doing my best. [ Wait... ] So hey, if you've done stuff with spaceships before you got here, where are you from? Or when, I guess.

[ Dude, he knows she's not human. But that doesn't necessarily mean she's not from some crazy future earth thing. The Astral Plane taught him that much, and his time on the fleet has just cemented that as an Acceptable Thing (tm). ]

[Ahsoka's heard of timeline shenanigans happening here with people from the same universe, so the year question is a fair one-- if totally useless. She's figured out already that her universe uses a totally different dating system to most others represented here. Still, she humours him.]

It's currently 16 ARS where I'm from. Though that probably doesn't mean anything to you, I'm guessing.

We reset the calendar year to zero every time there's an event of galactic historical significance. It's useful for us, but it's not particularly helpful if you're talking to someone from the past. Though I... doubt that's a common conundrum.

I can tell you that there isn't an Earth in my galaxy, though, if you're from there. Most people here seem to be.

[ He shakes his head. Yep, it means nothing to him. But she's explaining, and that helps, and it's actually a pretty cool thing to learn about! ]

You'd think it wouldn't be a common conundrum, but in places like this, I guess it's a possibility, huh? Heh. Still, that's really cool. Another galaxy, and all. You know?

Yeah, I'm from Earth. Not really sure how there's so many of us, if there's supposedly multiple universes and worlds and countless other things like that. Doesn't that seem weird? Like, maybe it's not so random?

I agree.

It's possible they want to keep people with knowledge of space to a minimum. That's how I would do it, if I wanted to capture people for entertainment and ensure they stayed captive. What better target than a non-space-faring people?

[ He's quiet for a second, mulling that over. ]

... You know, it's kinda creepy to say how you'd do something if you were evil. But, well, I guess it's a good thing, to try and guess how they're going about this.

[Ahsoka shrugs, not bothered.]

I was captured once before, by a group of Trandoshan poachers. They liked to kidnap rare and exotic species and dump them on their own little private island, so they could be hunted down and killed at their own leisure. For glory and their own sick amusement, or something. They were able to continue their operation for a long time because they only captured people less strong than themselves, so nobody ever escaped.

They made a mistake, though. They got too cocky. Maybe the Atroma will eventually do the same.
