He's our cook, and a nice guy. And I don't know how he does it, I'm terrible at cooking.

[ ta-da, a kitchen. there's a drink dispenser and a spice rack above the sink and all manner of "substitutes" in the pantry ]

Are you in the mood for meat-like product? We might actually have some of the genuine stuff in here.

Well, you are not alone. I am fairly certain that I could burn water, if I was given the opportunity.

You mentioned. I take it being here is an improvement for you, too?

I would not say that ... I had quite a bit going on back home. This is an inconvenient side-trip, but at least I am not in a prison in my homeland. Small favors, as they say, often go hand in hand with small men.

I have a lot going on at home, too. I'm not really "in prison" but I'm pretty trapped.

As much or as little as that means ...

It's... kind of a long story. I guess it boils down to... I insulted the Capitol, in a pretty big way, and I have to—or had to, I guess—do what they wanted or they'd kill everyone I knew.

I went off-script and... well, they firebombed my District.

[tallasaking]

[Tyrion looked at her for a long moment, before his mouth twisted in appreciation.] Well, then it appears we are quite similar in that way. Except my Capital was my family.

Mmm. Yes. I have tried to do the right thing by my family - to have they do the right thing -- and they have time and time again chosen their own self interests. To the point where they framed me for the murder of my own nephew.

...That's terrible.

They are, in fact, quite terrible people.

You have my sympathies as well. It seems neither one of us have had particularly good luck with whom we are forced to deal with.

Because I have found I have the most curious kind of luck .... and that is the sort of luck that usually means I have been unfortunate enough to escape one bad situation right into another one.

I don't know. We get food, warm places to sleep, and no one's trying to kill me currently. If you ignore the audience, it could be worse.
