[Hahaha mingling that's a good one.]

[When he's not making sure the ship doesn't crash upon landing on the planet, Kaneis can be found in the kitchen area of the ship. He seems to be typing a list to himself on the communicator - stuff to keep an eye out for in the planet. Since hey, it always good to keep a journal of notes to check your progress or something.]

[He makes a slight face whenever someone comes in. Like ugh, right. He supposes he should ask the others their opinions. Great. But he will - be grudgingly]

Anything you want to keep an eye out for on the planet?

[If it's Captain Flora, this is how he says hi, welcome to the ship]

[ meanwhile Lloyd's totally oblivious to the announcement and Flora's arrival as he's holed up in the engine room (again), checking and double-checking to make sure everything's a-okay. gotta keep up appearances and all, even though he doesn't like to lie.

he decides now is a good time for a water break, though, so he'll be walking into the dining area and... oh! looks like he's not alone. he shoots Kaneis a grin before moving to help himself to some water, looking back only when Kaneis speaks up. ]

You got meat on that list?

[ he will be so disappointed if you don't ]

[Lloyd people are gonna start questioning your relationship with that engine room]

I put down food, is that good enough?

[ you mean like how they're already questioning your relationship with the bridge? ]

Hey, as long as you get some meat in there too! I'm getting tired of not eating all the time. [ he misses real food so much. ]

[Dryly] You poor thing.

[But he does get it. He's lost count of how long it's been since he's had a proper meal. ]

We'll keep an eye out for meat. I can't promise it'll be identifiable though.

As long as it's better than those stupid proteins. [ and, you know. doesn't kill him.

but he settles down, sitting in a nearby chair after he has his water in hand. it's your lucky day, Kaneis; he's not next to you! ]

Mostly practical stuff - weapons, medical supplies, shampoo, clothes, books. Pretty typical stuff.

[ he feels almost naked without his swords, it's a wonder why he didn't go crazy from not having them for this long. hopefully he can get Gagnrad back before they manage to find their way off, but he can live with spares.

[He gives a nod about the weapon remark, but makes a slight face at the mention of the yarn. Argh. Why do you have to remember these details about him]

[Flora carefully steps in, wearing a nightgown but very much awake. She's not much for deep sleeping these days, and getting randomly moved to another place makes for a rather rude awakening. Her slightly tussled hair has bits of confetti in it.

When she lays eyes on one familiar redhead, there is more than a little surprise, there.]

Kaneis? What am I...I'm not dreaming, am I? [She blinks, realising how that sounds. Wait--WAIT!] Not like that.

[Wow she does look disheveled. He meanwhile keeps his own line face expression, not even seeming fazed at her implication]

[He reaches over to a small bowl on the table and grabs a handful of what is, yes, more confetti- then he tosses it up on the air at Flora before speaking in his same dull, apathetic tone]

[It's too early to be blushing, barely noticeable or not.] That's not what I meant! And of course they couldn't wait until I was good and ready.

[The last is muttered. She's hardly wearing anything risque--it's more cute than anything and she's worn much less in public quite comfortably, at that--but it's the principle of the matter!! She's in her nightwear--this is so unseemly.

A piece of confetti manages to land above her her lip and she sharply blows it off while staring at him, flatly and unimpressed.

She raises a finger and looks like she's about to Start when what he says hits her and she moves her hand to her mouth, her eyes going wide with realisation, instead.]

Wait, I'm the Captain of the what?

[SHE'S NOT SURE WHICH TO BE MORE INCREDULOUS AT.]

[Yeah he's not even surprised by her unimpressed face. In fact he has to bite his lip to keep from breaking out a troll grin when she raises her finger - though even then it breaks through a little.]

Apparently our old captain jumped ship- so Atroma thought you'd be a good replacement.

[Kaneis can you go without trolling her for like five minutes, goodness.]

Ah. [She clears her throat, delicately.] That's what I thought you said. [Absolutely.]

But why me out of...however many people we have here? You've all been here longer--that's very strange, isn't it?

I'm really curious at what kind of metric they're using here--I haven't even been here for a full week. How am I the most qualified?

[She actually considers that, but her thoughts are more aligned with what that would mean if she went through with it, and she can't abide by that, reservations or not.] No...I'll give it a shot. I don't like the idea of giving something up without trying, first.

She rubs the back of her head and more confetti shows up on her hand. As if there wasn't enough from before.]

Anyway, I'm compiling a supply list of things we should look out for while we're on the planet's surface. Any ideas, Captain?

[ yeee frandship! his smile drops a little, as though he's realized something while having this conversation. speaking of hobbies... ]

Oh, I should probably keep an eye out for some carving knives too. [ and maybe some wood. ]

[It's belated, because she's pointedly avoided thinking about food in any great detail since she arrived, nor has she actually eaten much, but she's hit by an unusual sensation now, this strange feeling of Knowing. It doesn't hurt, but that's just odd.]

That's...that's so bizarre. [She blinks, and frowns mildly. She's read a bit about the augments in the archive, but she can't say she's pleased about someone messing in her head.]

Um, I think cooking is my job...what do you have on the list, so far?
