[The feed kicks in to show the latest arrival at where else? The viewing bay where rather than the empty expanse of space, there's now the view of an ice world within sight. A single figure is standing there with his hand pressed to the glass. He seems to be in a conversation already, even though he appears to be alone. His voice is deeper than what might be expected from such a young looking face.]

Do you think I care about all that? Just look at it. The entire expanse of the universe just waiting for me, as well as an entirely different planet. I always knew one world wouldn't be enough for me. The whole galaxy? Well, that might just do the trick.

[Ling, the docile observer just now, can't be too alarmed to realize Greed has gone from wanting one world to wanting a galaxy. Still... it's far more ambitious than simply one country. And you're content to let your Father go unpunished for what he's done? That's remarkably selfless of you to simply forgive and forget.]

Can it, you brat. What I do with him can wait. Right now, I just want to see what that little planet down there has to offer.

I prefer to be called Greed. [He decides to seat himself against the glass as he contemplates his situation.] But you might be able to help me out. I'd like to talk to the person in charge here. I like the prospect of what's out there, but I can't say I care for the impersonal treatment.

[ ugh, she dislikes his name so much. she can't imagine speaking it. ]

They do not come when summoned, I don't think -- I've never spoken with the Atroma. [ ... ] Apologies.

Now that's a pity. [He sighs, though exaggerated.] Maybe if I kick up enough of a fuss, they'll make a point to get in touch with me.

Well, you're not wrong on that count. I'll just have to kick up a fuss a little more. You wouldn't happen to know any particular things that would grab their attention, would you?

[ she can think of a half-dozen off the top of her head. she's already sniffed them out. but to say it aloud? well, that would mark her as far more of a rebel than she'd ever want to be.

[ yes. ]

There's no reason to deny it. You are just a hostage, after all. Of course, if you position yourself the right way, you wouldn't have to be one.

[ he speaks like baelish -- except that petyr would never be so indelicate as to speak these sentiments aloud, or in public. so she wonders where this young man hopes to stand. her expression remains fixed. ]

Then, ser, I wish you the best of fortune in that endeavour.

[ implying that she'll stay a quiet little mouse instead. ]

Do you, now? [A chuckle.] And you'll just avoid any association, won't you? Now that is a shame. I do so hate to see women denied what they truly want.

[ wry and piercing, but not said with the blunt tone of someone trying to be rude. she hides her insubordination in sweet sentences. ]

[He does give it some thought. Humans tends to make it a point to suppress their innermost desires. Still... it's not really his problem to deal with.]

So the only thing you can bring yourself to desire it to be simply left alone. Well, that's a shame. With a pretty face like that, you could have anything you wanted.

[ her face flushes. from flattery, it appears. but deep down she feels a surging disappointment in the conversation. sansa stark is no stranger to compliments, but all his assertion does is make her angry at its falsehood. beauty is no guarantor -- not of wishes, of delights, or power. ]

How kind of you to say so, ser. [ fraught little words. she speaks them beautifully. ]

Probably. [He wasn't doing to be kind. He does very little out of kindness.] If you like the sound of it, you could always hook up with me. You seem like you could be my type.

[He's not sure what his type is.]

[ type of what? she wonders, mildly scandalized and all manner of upset. ]

[ uncomfortable, she clears her throat. ]

What, I have to explain it? [He gives a disappointed sigh.] Well, I suppose if I had to narrow it down... it would be attractive women. That or extremely attractive women. But it's hard to really limit my tastes like that.

[ dully: ] That isn't a type.

[ or, if it is, it's every man's type. ]

Well it's my type. I do crave everything, after all.

[ he has the sort of personality deserving of a rebuke, but she can't bring herself to make one. instead: ] Then I suspect you shall find yourself very happy amidst the fleet, ser. There is no shortage of beauty.

So I've noticed. We'll see if any manage to replace you as my current favorite. [... they probably will, really.]

[ a wicked idea springs to mind. wicked, and self-protective. ]

Have you met the Lady Nyssa? [ she suspects nyssa would make a perfect candidate for a new favourite: beautiful, statuesque, and charismatic. but sansa knows the lady of nanda parbat can protect herself, and she almost relishes the opportunity to see nyssa put a scoundrel like this in his place. ]

[He knows when someone is trying to distract him, but...

Well, maybe there's something to this Nyssa.]
