[Today there's a blue fish lady onscreen. She ROARS and slams a conjured lance through the nearest table, splitting it in half. Poor hospitality deck, it never asked for this. She grabs the spear and looks at the console with a discerning yellow eye. The other eye is covered by an eyepatch and a bit of red hair.]

No one captures me. Not unless they have a DEATH WISH!

[She brandishes her spear with a twirl and shoves it solidly into the floor. Her grin shows jagged sharky teeth, and it nearly splits her face in half. Is she making you uneasy? Good.]

It's been a while since I had a real fight. Come out of hiding, cowards! I'll show you why I was made captain of the Royal Guard!

[A captain in... a muscle tank and skinny jeans, sure. Whatever.]

The Underground, of course! [She leans in, trying to get a better look at the girl on the screen.] I report directly to the King of All Monsters! It's my job to throw out troublemakers... and to CRUSH anyone who tries anything!!

Do humans have a royal guard? [She can't remember if she ever read about that.]

Oh... [She laughs, a little awkwardly. "Crush." Well, that... That just figures, doesn't it?] Got it, got it! I've never heard of somewhere like the Underground before, I guess. There's... [In a hushed tone,] There's really a King of All Monsters?

[Wait, wait, wait, she's got a question to answer, right--]

Um, but I think so? There wasn't exactly a royal guard where I'm from, but there was something similar?

Don't worry about it. The humans locked us away and then basically forgot.

[The girl's reaction is kind of hilarious, because she sounds a bit scared, but Undyne just laaaaaaaughs.] Of course there is! Don't let the name scare you. The king's a big softie who hates fighting. He's the nicest monster you'll ever meet! That's why he needs people to guard him.

[That and they all love him, but still.]

What's the human king like? I've never heard of him.

Seriously? [She's honestly not sure whether she's asking about the monsters getting locked away or the king here. Either way, right?] It doesn't sound really fair that people wanted to forget about you all if the king's so nice.

The human king though? [She laughs.] Sorry, sorry! But I think you're gonna have to ask somebody else about that. There wasn't really a human king where I'm from. It was just... It was different, I guess. No kings!

Well, it was a really long time ago. I'm not even sure he knows what started the war. Doesn't matter since we're at peace now anyway.

[The laughter isn't too off-putting at least; she doesn't feel like she's being made fun of.] No kings, huh? Well, the Royal Guard protects the people, too.

Ohhh. [She nods, eyes wide.] Okay, got it, got it! That sounds a lot better than I thought, I guess.

[She grins now.] But nope. No kings. If that's what they're supposed to do though... It sounds a liiiittle like the Cardinal Guards back home. [A beat.] A little.

Who leads your people if not a king?

[It's an honest question from someone who's only known monarchy all her life.]

Wait. Were you thinking we were gonna invade? [She laughs.] Not interested.

[She shrugs.] Um. One of the Cardinals does. He's... in charge of the church.

[A pause.] Wait, wait, hold on. No! You can do that? You could actually invade somewhere? If you wanted! I-I get that you don't!

[She's a little sheltered, okay
