[Today there's a blue fish lady onscreen. She ROARS and slams a conjured lance through the nearest table, splitting it in half. Poor hospitality deck, it never asked for this. She grabs the spear and looks at the console with a discerning yellow eye. The other eye is covered by an eyepatch and a bit of red hair.]

No one captures me. Not unless they have a DEATH WISH!

[She brandishes her spear with a twirl and shoves it solidly into the floor. Her grin shows jagged sharky teeth, and it nearly splits her face in half. Is she making you uneasy? Good.]

It's been a while since I had a real fight. Come out of hiding, cowards! I'll show you why I was made captain of the Royal Guard!

[A captain in... a muscle tank and skinny jeans, sure. Whatever.]

Not all the ships could fight back, huh? I bet we could change THAT.

It has to do with the augments on the ship.. Not every ship has someone with a security augment. I guess you can only do so much without them.

[ He shrugs a shoulder. ]

Why not just move people around? That's what I do when there's not enough coverage for an area.

I don't know. I'm not in charge.

[Poor Winter. He never signed up for this.]

[She tilts her head, looking at him.]

If you're strong and you've got stuff to teach other people, why not be in charge?

Then again, some people are the follower types. That's fine, too. But if you have any interest in being a leader yourself, go for it!

[ He definitely signed up for nothing. ]

I don't think I would make a good leader.

[ Not like the current Captain- not like Jim. ]

I take it you're the leader type?

[Her expression softens at the edges. She's reminded a bit of someone she cares about.] No one thinks they'd be a good leader. Not the kind of people you want in charge, anyway.

But yeah! I wouldn't want to lead a whole country or anything. Being a captain just kind of... happened? I joined up because I wanted to fight the bad guys. Next thing I know, I'm training recruits!

You proved to be good at what you do. People like that- having someone strong to follow.

[ Willing to follow someone into the jaws of death for the cause- all for the sake of who is leading. ]

I guess so. I get nervous sometimes, but that's because I know realistically I can't protect everyone-- but I don't want anyone to get hurt because of my orders. Or because I wasn't there.

Thankfully, I don't have to worry about that since we're at peace!

[She smiles toothily.]

What's your name, human? I'm Undyne.

[ He can't remember peace before coming to the Fleet. Not clearly, anyway. But this-- this is okay for now. He's glad someone can be at peace, at least. ]
