girlverine: (A moment of peace.)

Who: Laura Kinney and Open
Action: At the giant derelict ship/On the Red Fish
When: Throughout the month
Broadcast: Fleetwide

Audio

[There's a little delay and the barely audible sound of shuffling as Laura turns her comm on. Then, finally, a faint breath before she speaks.]

I need to know how to replant a small tree.

[That is the entire message. So social.]

At the wreck of the ship

[Laura has been spending a lot of time at the giant ruined ship and the surrounding forest, her curiosity about the wreck only outweighed by her desire to be out amongst the trees. She knew this would end soon, the fleet would move on and they'd wind up stuck in space for weeks, or on another dying world, or worse yet, some space station. More cramped hallways and recycled air.]

[The ship was a compromise, open to the jungle in enough places that she could poke around inside it without feeling like she was caged in. But she didn't really have anything specific she was looking for. When she came across something that might be useful, she'd pull it down or cut it out of the ship, and she had slowly amassed a pile of broken machinery near one of the holes into the hull.]

[Other times she can just be found sitting on the outside of the ship, high up as close to the top as her claws could get her, just...watching the forest. And the other people exploring the wreckage.]

On the Red Fish

[While they're on the planet, Laura is away much of the time. She's even sleeping out in the jungle, only coming back every few days to drop off things she might have found, or get a desperately needed shower and change of clothing. People can catch her coming back filthy or heading off clean.]

[Later on, she brings home a pumpkin. It winds up sitting in the hallway outside of her room, too big to comfortably bring in. But small enough to walk around. Mostly. Feel free to complain. Or try to eat her pumpkin. That will end well.]

Who: Alphonse Elric and YOU
Broadcast: Fleetwide
Action: The Vanquish if you wish
When: October 23rd

[Al smiles bashfully as he addresses the Fleet.]

Clay asked me to be the First Mate of the Vanquish, and I've accepted. It seems fitting that it happened so close to my first anniversary here, doesn't it? I'm honored, and I'll do my best to keep supporting my shipmates.

I'm glad to have been on such a great ship and met such great friends, and I wish all of you who are working on the shipwreck the best of luck. And if you're staying closer to the Fleet and are able to scavenge any usable ship parts, I'd be happy to fix them up with my alchemy.
widow_of_the_crag: ([Jeyne] Anxious (Hurries))
[personal profile] widow_of_the_crag
Who: Jeyne and YOU
Broadcast: N/A
Action: SS Golden; SS Blue Fish
When: Oct 23

It hadn't been a great surprise when Jeyne had appeared suddenly on the Golden. For all of her intentions of begging to be at her husband's side, she inwardly knew that she would be placed elsewhere. For the few days she had spent on the Marsiva, as well as the brief conversations she had on her strange device, she had slowly become aware of how these Atroma intended to play. Nothing was about her comfort, it was about this show that they had brought her here for.

For her sanity, and for Robb's sake, she would need to make the best of this situation and allow herself to be moved around as a pawn once more.

She had at least been given a room of her own. For the first few days, she had wandered the ship, acquainting herself with her surroundings, but only when she wasn't with her husband. Traveling between the Golden and the Blue Fish was becoming a routine for her. While she wanted to remain with Robb, she had duties to attend to and couldn't neglect her own crew.

So mornings and evenings, she would travel between the ships, slowly become familiar with the faces she passed (even if she didn't know all of their names.)

Stepping through the sealed doors, Jeyne rested for a moment, catching her breath and regaining her composure. No matter how often she passed people or walked the distance between her ship and the Blue Fish, she still managed to become disoriented and drained.

Hearing another's approach, she forced herself back into composure, bringing a smile once more to her features. "Good day," she said, turning to greet the person that had interrupted her solitude. "Am I in your way?"

I ought to confess.

This little planet does unsettle me so and why, I cannot explain.

And yet, I have spent far too many days inside and so -

I do very dearly wish for an escort for a short walk outside.

Mayhaps I shall learn to love it, despite it all, we ought not insist on being unhappy, after all.
