Windrose, where the wind blows
Who: Windrose crew and you, distinguished visitors!
Broadcast: Naaah.
Action: Windrose, various points in the near vicinity
When: Until we get off this frozen rock
[On New Year's Day, the crew on board the Windrose and those nearby may notice the chill as the doors to the cargo bay are left open, and their captain making quite a bit of noise as she inspects their newly expanded home away from home. This is likely to go on for a while. Feel free to come investigate, chat among yourselves, complain about the cold, etc!]

Beverly "Why-Are-You-Always-On-This-Ship" Crusher
Because we love you, Doc
Hey. Looking for me, or here to visit Wrath?

It almost physically pains her to see the sad state of affairs that is the Windrose's "infirmary." She makes a mental note to collect some extra supplies for them.]
Neither - or rather, I only wanted to see who was around. It's been a while.
no subject
Yeah. I guess you've been busy, with everyone coming down with that bug that's been going around. You get sick?
no subject
[Even though she shouldn't have. Still trying to figure that one out.]
I have a supply of the Surrit medication, if anyone here needs it.
no subject
[She luckily avoided that particular bit of fun. Blame it on sturdy Russian genetics.]
Glad to see you're doing better now, though. Make sure you stay warm out there, the cold is no joke. With all the snowball fights going on, I wouldn't be surprised if you get another round of sick crew to take care of.

[Because it's not as if that thought hasn't crossed Beverly's mind either.]
The open space has been very welcome... even if it is freezing.
no subject
Really? It's not so bad, once you get used to it. Although I guess they didn't really equip everyone for this kind of weather. Have you been skiing yet?
[Spoken like someone who grew up with this kind of weather.]
no subject
Ah yes, hurtling down a giant mountain at breakneck speed. Sounds exactly like my idea of fun.
no subject
[What are you talking about, she is a saint. Just look at this face.]
It's plenty of fun, if you have the right teacher. Besides, a downhill slalom isn't the only kind of skiing there is.
You could always try cross-country.
[You know, if you want to be boring.]

I think I’ll stick to hiking.

Ah, Dr. Crusher. It's good to see you. I trust you are well?

no subject
[Yeah, no, that doesn't follow any medical science he's aware of either. Especially the part where he got sick in the first place.]
no subject
[.......]
[.............yeah she's staring.]
No... no, that - that makes no sense.
no subject
[He shrugs, smiling just a little bit.] On the other hand, it could be that the cold ran its course and the ritual was simply performed at a fortuitous time. It was rather fascinating to take part in.
no subject
[She frowns.]
It must be simply be a coincidence that you recovered at the same time as the ritual. However, as for the rest of it, this pathogen has proven to be most unusual. You're not the only one for whom it should have been theoretically impossible - or in my case, at least difficult. We cured the common cold decades ago, so I have been vaccinated, though it's plausible enough that this is a strain that is resistant to the vaccine. Were I the only case, I would assume that was what had happened, but...
no subject
[Yet again he regrets the lack of a lab on the Windrose. But even so....]
Are you fully recovered now? I hate to pry, but you seem a bit out of things.
no subject
[She gives him a small smile.]
I'm all right. It's just been... a trying couple of months for me.
no subject
[The smile is reassuring, though his brow is still furrowed in concern.]
I see. Is there anything I might be able to help with?
no subject
I'm afraid not, but I appreciate the offer.
no subject
Certainly. Oh, and I've acquired several new plant species with supposed medicinal value. As soon as samples are ready, I'll pass them along for testing.
no subject
Her eyes light up.]
Really? That's wonderful! Where did you find them? Here on the planet?
