Windrose, where the wind blows

Who: Windrose crew and you, distinguished visitors!
Broadcast: Naaah.
Action: Windrose, various points in the near vicinity
When: Until we get off this frozen rock

[On New Year's Day, the crew on board the Windrose and those nearby may notice the chill as the doors to the cargo bay are left open, and their captain making quite a bit of noise as she inspects their newly expanded home away from home. This is likely to go on for a while. Feel free to come investigate, chat among yourselves, complain about the cold, etc!]

[Oh, a new shipmate, this is so exciting!]

Hi, fresh meat! [Wrath's a very small person, with bright pink hair. She's very well-armed--and leaning on a cane.] It's so exciting to have new crew.

And you have really nice hair! My name's Wrath, what's yours?

[If she's any taller than 5'1", Leia's got her beat for small--though, admittedly, that's only her height, not her stature. She carries herself like her hair brushes the ceiling.

Either way, it's nice not to be the only small package aboard ship.]

Oh--thank you. So do you. [The pink suits her bright manner so far.] I'm Leia Organa. It's a pleasure to meet you, Wrath.

[She's a little shy of 5'3", so for once she's taller than someone! Exciting. Right now, though, she's the exact opposite of intimidating or dignified. That waits until she's on the job.]

It's great to meet you, Leia! Welcome to the Windrose. We're the prettiest ship in the fleet. And definitely have the best crew, too.

Do you know what your job's supposed to be?

[And still short enough to qualify as being an ally in height! What a world.]

Thank you. It's certainly a nice bridge. [Even if the ship's abilities don't quite match her goal of getting out of here.]

I'm on communications. What's yours?

[Windrose, home of the short, kickass women.]

[Wrath casts a weather eye over the bridge, for a minute the soldier beneath it all showing through.] It'll pass muster. I think Castle's been working his cleaning bots extra hard.

I'm security for the ship. So if you want a gun, I got all kinds! And Captain Romanoff is a really good shot.

[Hey, if you're going to be home to something...]

Good to hear. [After finding out that some of the ships have no weaponry at all, she's very glad to find that isn't the case here.] What kinds of blasters do you carry?
pain_train: (grin and look)

[personal profile] pain_train 2016-01-15 06:17 am (UTC)(link)
Blasters... energy weapons? What we get standard are projectile sidearms with a decent muzzle velocity, so you have to be careful about using them shipboard, just in case. Some of the planets have more interesting stuff, though, so maybe we can find you a blaster at the next stop.

Projectile sidearms?

[What are we, cavepeople?]

Maybe you could show me around them. We don't use a lot of those where I'm from.

Yeah, not a great thing to be using in a vacuum, right?

[She misses all the fun less lethal stuff from back home really.]

Sure, I'd love to. And there's a firing range on the Iskaulit so you can practice. Captain Romanoff is a lot better with guns than me. I've always been more a sword girl. But I'm getting better.
