[ Obi-Wan is no stranger to waking up to unknown locations, but this seemed odd . . . even for him. He gropes for his lightsaber . . . which is gone, obviously. He huffs, before straightening himself and brushing his hair back. Communications . . . communications . . . ah, there it is.

A video feed. Somewhat archaic, but it'll do. He doubts anyone from the Republic will be nearby, but perhaps the locals will offer some aid. Obi-Wan clears his throat before speaking. It's time for his other skill set to come in use. ]

Greetings. My name is General Kenobi. To whom do I have the pleasure of addressing? And I don't suppose there is someone willing to answer my questions? Because I have a great deal many of them.

I'm not surprised. [There's a warmth in her voice that wasn't nearly so present before, the polite princess-diplomat equivalent of a laugh.] His stories about your adventures left quite an impression on me.

[For the best, she's sure--if nothing else, she was left with the belief that General Kenobi was an incredibly capable Jedi.] Politics can be a lonely business. Their friendship must have been strong to survive it.

[ He coughs lightly. He had a bad feeling about what Bail told his daughter . . . ]

Padme and Bail inspired people. They almost made me believe in politics. But I believe the Senate was in good hands . . . when it was theirs.

[Tiny tomboy princesses like pirate attacks and stories of Wild Space, okay.

Leia takes a moment to find an appropriately neutral reply. Most of the things she can think to say will reveal all too much about the galaxy to come.]

We hope to carry on their legacy, in my time.

[ He rubs his chin lightly. ]

If I may ask, how do you plan on doing that?

You may ask...but I'm not sure I can answer.

[Believe her, General, she'd like to tell you all about it and possibly get your opinion.]

When I was transported here, we had just won a major victory for peace within the galaxy. It wasn't on the Senate floor, but I think it's something my father would have been in favour of regardless.

[beardstrokes]

[ That implies that a major upheaval took place. But what kind? ]

A victory for all time, I imagine. That is no easy feat.

That's my hope.

[She can't imagine what kind of despot could possibly come to rival the Emperor.]

It took years of work to come to this point. To be entirely honest with you, it's still difficult to believe.

Hope in the face of adversity always seems impossible at times.

[ In a way, Yoda's words had filled him with hope. ]

There were many times, during the War, that it seemed difficult to believe such scars could fade away.

The galaxy is much changed since then, but people willing to work to make it a better place can still make a difference.

[Which is to say, well, the scars of the past are still here, BUT. The Rebel Alliance stands on the shoulders of people like General Kenobi.]

That, I have never doubted. But it is still gratifying to hear.

[ Whether he succeeded or not, he has always believed others will succeed him. He's not interested in glory or being remembered. His will is the Will of the Force. ]
