[There had been a lot of meat left over from the hunting Al had done, even after stocking his own ship as much as he could. So he decided to pay a visit to his friends on the Blue Fish and deliver them a gift- a late Christmas gift, he reasoned, after learning about the holiday, which didn't exist in his own world.

He hoped to be discreet about it, but in all honesty, it was very difficult for him to be discreet about anything. Especially when it was so hard to not stop and play with foxes.]

[Allen can hear the metal shuffling onto the ship. He goes to inspect, thinking it's possibly Sokka trying to haul spare parts and need the help. So while Al is in the cargo bay, Allen will step into the room, Timcanpy riding on his shoulder]

Oh, hello Alphonse! [He smiles] What brings you to the Blue Fish?

[Al set down the crate he was carrying and turned to face Allen with a wave.]

I was hoping to get in and out without being seen, but I'm not very good at being stealthy. I had some meat I couldn't use and thought you guys might appreciate it.

[He gives a smile at that. Yeah. A giant thing of armour of course isn't good at being stealthy, but he's too polite to say that]

Really? Why thank you! I know the crew will love that.

I'm glad to have someone to take it off my hands, believe me. I've been helping with the hunting parties a lot on this planet, since I can't get tired or injured. The locals have been teaching me how to butcher and preserve it in return.

Oh yeah? That's a useful skill to know. Have you learned a lot?

I have, yes! It's been good to learn a new skill, and it may come in handy in the future. I can't eat, but it's good to be able to provide for my crew so they can have something other than protein blocks.

That's really considerate of you. Your crew's lucky to have you.

Speaking of that, I heard you got a new friend aboard the Vanquish. [a furry one]

And I'm lucky to have them. Clay especially... he's looked out for me ever since I got transfered to his ship.

[He nodded.]

We bought a fox, yeah! I think Clay was even more excited than I was to have one. I've always wanted a pet. Our neighbours had a dog, but Mom and Dad never wanted a pet, and Brother and I couldn't keep one because we traveled so much.

[he chuckles, imagining just how excited he must've been.]

Clay always wanted a dog, but I think being an astronaut meant he never had time to keep a pet.

Make sure to take good care of Cosmos, okay?

He told me about that once... which is a shame, but it's also better to admit defeat and just want a pet from afar. Brother used to scold me for hiding stray kittens in my armor and make me take them to a shelter, even though part of me knew I couldn't keep one when we traveled so much.

I promise we will. I've been playing with the foxes out in the woods, so I've got a good idea of what they like.

You'd actually keep kittens in your armour? I'll have to remember to tell Clay to search you when you visit planets. [No more stealing stray kittens Al!!]

I learned better eventually... but I would still get tempted every now and then. I couldn't stand to see them shivering in the rain or the cold. I'm pretty excited that I can have a pet now, though. Since I don't need to sleep, he'll never get bored.

[There are two things here that attract Sokka's attention. The obvious one is all the metal clunking about his ship, the less obvious one to most other than Sokka is the knowledge MEAT has arrived. He beams when he sees who it is, playing about with the dumb fox, but whatever. ]

Al! Hey buddy, glad you're here. [He wanders past a crate and starts rummaging about in it. ]

I got that pencil thingie done for you.

Hi, Sokka! [Al waved and let the fox scamper off to wherever it might go.]

Oh, thank you. I brought you guys a present, too.

[He pulls out a small metalic cylinder, a little like a stylus pen, but designed a touch thicker at the top and tapering at the bottom. Nicely made for bigger hands. He presents it to Al with no small amount of flourish. ]

Here you go! And if the gift is of meat, then you've beat me on best gift ever.

Oh, this will be perfect. Now I can wait a little bit before shocking people with the whole "suit of armor" thing.

[Al patted the crate.]

You guessed right. I've been doing a lot of hunting, both to help my crew and just because it's something to do, and I've gathered more than we can eat. I thought you guys might like some too.

People still getting freaked out by that huh? Can't imagine why.

[Stop with the sarcasm, he's bringing you food. ]

Well, you're now officially one of my favourite people. We can always use more meat. There's a lot of us to feed. Thanks, man.

Any time. You have a pretty big crew, don't you? Compared to the Vanquish, anyway- especially because Pearl and I don't need to eat. I'll bring some more if we're on this planet long enough.

Aw, you're great. I've been hunting too, making sure we got enough. I mean, Allen doesn't eat meat, but everyone else does. I'm glad we gout our freezers, to keep the meat fresh longer.

If you ever need some more storage space, I might be able to cobble some together with alchemy. Then again, I wouldn't want to step on Toph's toes and do the metalbending thing.

You know, she'd probably enjoy bouncing some ideas off of you. She runs a metalbending school, back home. I think she probably misses talking to other people who can do it, here.

Oh, she does? I bet she's an awesome teacher. And that's a good point... my alchemy isn't exactly the same, but there are similarities. Of course, she could kick my butt if she wanted.

Just as long as she doesn't try it on me! I don't think she would unless I made her really angry, though. I could stand to be a bit smaller, but I'd be afraid of going too far.
