[ Winter has at least seen Hinata around the ship before this occasion, so he's accustomed to the little guy's presence. Honestly, most of the crew is either asleep or in their rooms, so being approached is out of the ordinary.

He starts to deny the offering, but reasons that of all the people on the ship, Hinata is less threatening than the space rodents. He takes the offered jerky with a nod. ]

[he does grin really wide, though, when his offering is accepted. and when he talks, he even manages to stay quiet!]

[the look on his face says it's not for lack of trying.]

Is there a reason?

[ Winter knows that if he can't sleep, there's at least a reason- either he's too restless or there's something on his mind. Maybe it's the same, but he really doesn't have enough knowledge in that area. He doesn't understand normal people at all. ]

[it's not nothing, says his reaction.]

[ He raises a brow, waiting to see if he'll say anything. ]

..Sometimes, yes. But I'm probably not the right person to ask.

[ He can't help but wonder about his team or his handler. Fuck, or even Pierce. Winter knows what happens, and that they're not good people, but he can't very well tell that effectively to that dark part of his mind. The one that screams for 'home' and 'team' and 'purpose'. ]
