say bye to kris kringle, it's a mingle!
Who: The Vanquish crew and visitors!
Broadcast: Nein?
Action: On the Vanquish lollipop, and around it maybe!
When: During the month of January
[Hey crew! It looks like there's some new changes that have come over the ship as well as a couple of new crewmates from the past shuffle or two! Have you been enjoying the planet, or is it too cold for you? Have you caught a nasty cold like your poor captain a few posts down, or are you a Vanquish member and are fine? Come along for a mingle, let the viewers see what you're up to! And also meet the tiniest, cutest crew member too!]

backdated to her arrival; walks in a week late with starbucks
she doesn't so much explore the ship as aggressively acquaint herself with her surroundings, her lips pulled into what seems to be a permanent scowl. she can be found wandering just about anywhere from the bunks to kitchens to the rec room. the last one is a favorite, because it gives her something to hit when she's frustrated. which is pretty much always, right at this moment.
if she runs into anyone there's a good chance she'll introduce herself with a friendly who are you supposed to be?, or where are we? or the even more charming hey, you're in my way.
she's all about the stellar first impressions.]

Oh, sorry! I try not to get in anyone's way, but that's difficult for me sometimes.

she looks up when she hears his voice -- and then up, and up. whoa. annabeth's spent a lot of her life in greek armor, but this guy is seriously prepared for anything. it makes her feel kind of exposed in her t-shirt and jeans. hopefully he's not going to ask her for, like, a duel to the death or anything.]
Uh, no kidding. I didn't know we had to bring our own armor to the party.

well, that sure is hollow.]
For now?

Where'd you find chocolate in this place?
no subject
[A rather vicious jab into her pudding at that, as she is currently quite out of temper with Atroma.] Name's Rogue. Spoons are over there. [A jerk of her chin in the direction of the drawer.] Welcome ta the Vanquish.
no subject
[chocolate pudding cups. that's definitely a fair tradeoff for yanking her out of her life. but that's not rogue's fault, so she follows the other girl's instructions to find a spoon and then sits herself down with her pudding cup.]
Annabeth. Thanks. Good to know they don't starve us.
no subject
[But she gives Annabeth a small smile.] But don't worry, you're on the only ship in the fleet with three cook augments. We manage ta make things taste almost half-decent most days.
[In fact, their kitchen is bangin'. Just one upgrade away from full, and they work wonders in there. W o n d e r s.]

[protein paste. it almost makes her long for the river phlegethon]
So...lots of cooks. Good to know. What else do I need to know about the Vanquish?
no subject
[As far as Rogue's concerned, the most important part about being captain is legitimately caring for the crew, and Clay does that above and beyond.]
no subject
Okay. Lots of cooks, adorable captain. Was everyone on this ship dragged here too?
[she'd normally assume the captain might be one of them (whoever they are: aliens? gods? monsters? really weird people who like kidnapping teenagers into spaceships?) but talk about his life back home suggests otherwise.]
no subject
Yeah. Some people from their home, some people from other places in between.
[An eyebrow.] Your first interdimensional kidnappin'?
no subject
Yeah, I'd have to say that getting kidnapped into space is definitely a first. You're saying that's not true for everyone?
no subject
[There was the draft on the moon and all.] But the situation's familiar enough, was taken from a village last time is all. Couple of folks came from a weird, 'soul-stealin' castle'. Someone else from a world who was dying, because its gods were at war. Seems like there's no end of crazy pocket universes run by psychos. So far, this one ain't the worst I've heard of.
no subject
Hey! New here?
no subject
she frowns, clearly having hoped to find the place empty and maybe also just from being hit with that much cheer.]
Brand new. Who are you?
/walks in late with starbucks OOPS
Clay Terran. I'm the pilot and the captain of this ship. [And to expand that greeting, he reaches out a hand for a shake.] And you?
