[The recording starts with Tyrion's small, stubby hand putting the device on the edge of the sink, tilting it upwards. All you can see is the top of his damp, curly blonde head, and the top of his scar. Then there's a sigh, before there is the sound of Tyrion's steps dragging across the bathroom floor.

After that, is the scrrreeeeeeeeeeeeeech of metal being pulled across metal, as the top of Tyrion's head comes into view again. Then the stomp stomp of Tyrion climbing what can only be the stepstool, and his tired face and slightly bloodshot eyes. He's not drunk, that much is clear, just ... tired.

He eyes the camera, and states flatly.]

There must be some universe ... where all things, can be available, according to height.

[And with that, he begins to clean his face, turning off the camera.]

Hm. I am starting to wonder if Varric and I are simply long lost twins to one another.

That seems ... unfair. You would think they would want to torture us by sending us home before tearing us away.

[He frowned for a moment.] Probably nothing good... which makes this all more ominous.

Which Varric would always approve of.

Varric vanished a while ago, and he returned with his memories of this place. I do not understand what that means, but I suppose it is something.

[He rubbed his chin again.]

But why? What is the point? Entertainment only lasts so long with people.

That is no doubt why the show is shown in cycles. When they tire of us, they end it and start anew.

Then they kill off some of us. My what delightful monsters our jailers are.

[He sighed. Heavily.]

Perhaps they do, perhaps they simply send us to a different form of imprisonment.

I do not think they would waste our lives pointlessly. There is always a use for everyone, even if they do not wish it.

Perhaps an actual prison.

Perhaps they will come up with our actual Hell in Life.

It would not surprise me.

That is something I do worry about, on occasion.

[He remembers United Earth, he knows what people like this are capable of. ]

Or ... perhaps they'll get bored with us and just drop us off at a dead-end planet. That would be an interesting twist - 'Oh, look, we have decided not to mass-murder you but leave you to be bored to death on this rock with no wine or whores.'

[He called out as he looked around.] Surprise us!

Tyrion, please do not antagonise them into doing something like that.

[Well, that grabs a laugh out of Tyrion.]

When it comes to something that might make your life more uncomfortable? It would not surprise me.

So I am tempting the fates by making idle chatter ... gracious, they must not be idle.

Indeed. I would suggest constant vigilance against them, but they are so unpredictable that would be an impossibility.

It does seem rather tricky to have constant vigilance against something that we don't even know what it will be. This is not a war that can be won with strategies. Just in being ... creative.

Hm. It requires a lot of thinking on your feet.

Well that, is the best thing I could have hoped for.
