[... if they're here. Kanan is showing a rare amount of discretion by saying nothing else. His observations from other new arrivals has given him the intel he needs - it's a holodrama with secret recording devices hidden everywhere. It wasn't your run of the mill Imperial gig. So for now, he was going to avoid drawing attention to himself.

In the meantime, he's on the Marsiva exploring. Rather than stand gaping out the windows at space, he's trying to get a sense of the size of the ship he's on. Unfortunately it's not always easy going in a straight line among twisting and turning hallways and trying to hold numbers in his head is not easy. It would be a shame if he lost his count.]

I never thought I'd find myself in a situation where I'd have to say this, but it's nice to have another non-human around. I was starting to feel self-conscious.

Is it really that human-centric out there?

[That's an uncomfortable notion. He only knows one other galactic entity like that. The Empire.]

Pretty much.

Even the few non-humans I've found still look like humans. And basically nobody who isn't from our galaxy has ever seen a Togruta before. You wouldn't believe how many times I've been asked if my montrals are a hat.

[That does click something in his head now. If she's a Togruta, then this must be Ahsoka. And she is young. If he had to guess, she's not much older than he was when...

He cringes and pushes that thought back.]

You could be setting a new fashion trend. Though if the Atroma are favoring humans, that might mean they're human as well.

It's definitely a possibility. The calendar they use here and a significant population of the fleet are from a human planet named "Earth."

And yes, before you ask, that is the planet's actual name.

[Seriously. Least creative naming scheme ever.]

[Well. Maybe it was just a really dirty planet. There's a few planets he would probably give the same name if given the chance.]

... sounds like we've got our work cut out for us, then. [He's not expecting much from the dirtlings.]

Yeah. Most people here aren't tech-savvy.

What's your augment, by the way? Do you know?

Hm. I don't feel especially smarter in anything I didn't already know. So I'm either a pilot, an engineer, or security.

[resnipstance]

[Ahsoka chuckles.]

Haha. It's a bit like that, isn't it?

Though now that I'm looking at this ship I'm in, I don't really feel like I know where to start taking it apart. I think we can rule out engineer.

Pity. I could really use some extra engineers right now.

You specifically, huh? I didn't realize I was being scouted.

I'm working on a project for the defense of my ship. Since we have no weapons.

But all the engineers I've recruited so far are from places that're pre-space-travel. So communicating what I want isn't... the easiest.

Never been the best mechanic myself. Give me a few hours, a couple of holos and an astromech droid and I can get a ship moving again or a laser turret back online, but that's as good as I get.

[resnipstance]

At least you know what those things are.

Sure. Do we have any?

No holos or laser turrets. And the closest you're going to get to an astromech is the cleaning droid.

So, safe to say I won't be doing a whole lot of engine work while I'm here.

Not something I make a habit of doing. Often.
