mingle on the pathstone
Who: The Pathstone crew and anyone brave enough to come say hi
Broadcast: not this time
Action: I mean obvs
When: all month? all month!
[Contrary to popular believe, the Pathstone isn't THAT useless. Yes they can go months without an upgrade and sure they're kind of a mess at the best of times, but they still function!
Most of the time. Flying sideways in space is all about perspective anyway, and they haven't done a barrel roll in like... well probably awhile.
So welcome, new Pathstone dwellers! We're probably very sorry in advance.]

But she can't stay cooped up for too long. She at least has to leave her room to eat or whenever she wants to go to Jove or Cole's room when she has difficulty sleeping. Knowing that she has to greet the crewmate at some point, she lets out a deep breath and takes along her stuffed animal in her arms when she finally decides to head out into the hallway.
Elize is probably the latest of the welcoming crew. It's easy to pick out the new face in the hallway. ]
...hello. Did you meet everyone else already?
no subject
He nodded.]
More or less. It's some crew here. [Mostly human, he noticed. Except for Cole - he didn't know what he was.] I'm Kanan.

[ From his answer, she's assuming he must have already met Tek. Her doll partially covers the frown she's making as she thinks about him. She dislikes Tek, but she's willing to bear his presence to be near Jove, Cole, and Cassandra. ]
...And you don't have to listen to Tek. Jove's the better captain.
no subject
[Better? Well, he'd have to wait and see. Hera was still his captain, though that was very much a case of her being in charge on the ship while he was in charge off of it. Tek didn't exactly leave a lasting impression of good faith with Kanan however.]
My name is Kanan.

She gives the floor a light, nervous scuff of her foot. ]
Do you... know where the kitchen is already? They usually have dessert for the new people.
no subject
I haven't run across it just yet. Mind showing me the way?
no subject
Oh. I-I don't mind! This way.
[ She turns around, heading down the corridor and for the kitchen doorway. ]
no subject
Elize, have you been in the fleet long?
no subject
[ Elize has to pause to think about it. It's been awhile though. She did manage to return to her own world once by falling into some mysterious slumber, but that was about six months ago. ]
Yes. For about several months...
[ Probably getting close to a year when not including her cryosleep.
The kitchen is a short walk away and once they're near, Elize stops besides the doorway. The plate of chocolate cream dessert is sitting out on the counter. ]
no subject
That's a long to be here. What do you think of living in the fleet?
no subject
[ Even with the upgrades, she felt the ships were far too small for her liking. She disliked small rooms that brought back memories of her stay in Hamil. ]
But I like most of the people that I meet here. I made a lot of new friends...
[ New friends and people that she started to see as family. But they keep on leaving too...
Biting her lower lip, she's starting to tread into a sensitive subject. She briskly walks over to a cupboard, to distract herself by searching for a glass. Maybe Kanan could use a drink to go with that dessert. ]
no subject
Say what you want about the Atroma, they have some decent people here. [Some unsettling like Cole and some downright unpleasant like Tek. But the rest... they were fine.]
no subject
Is there anyone on the fleet that you know from home, Kanan?
[ She doesn't know he's splitting the dessert for her, thinking he might be saving the other half for later. She sets her plush doll on the counter, to free up her hands and carefully pick up a glass cup. Pausing before the dispenser, she realizes that she hadn't asked what he wants... ]
And, umm... do you want water, tea, or the fizzy stuff?
no subject
I've got my pilot, Hera. There's some others... but I wouldn't say that I know them.
[At least - not as Kanan anyway. Or not as they are now. It's confusing.
He slides one of the plates to the opposite side of the counter.]
no subject
Oh? Did you want to be on the same ship as your friend? You don't have to stay here...
[ She can understand people wanting to leave to be on the same ship as a close friend. It's the reason why she changed ships, twice.
After filling the glass cup with orange cola, she steps back over to the counter and cants her head slightly when she sees the other half of dessert on the plate. ]
no subject
[He gives her plate of dessert a small nudge to her before plunging his own fork into the dessert to have a bite. It's certainly a rich flavor.]
We have our own ship back in our own galaxy. Which ships we're on here doesn't really matter.
no subject
...You don't want the rest?
no subject
[He taps his nicely flat stomach. He's practically a stick, really.]
no subject
[ She takes a seat on the stool across from him, picking up a fork. She tries to at least smile a little when thanking him. ]
Thank you.

[ It's the best ship for her now, even though she greatly dislikes Tek for... strange reasons.
She scoops up a piece of her dessert, then takes a bite of it. ]

...My friend was letting me stay in her home. My mother and father died when I was really small.
[ When she was around three or four, perhaps. She doesn't remember anything about them. It makes her sad, but she has learned to hold back her tears about it. She solemnly prods at her dessert, then takes out another piece to chew on. ]

[Which isn't to say he could compare it to having parents who had died. But in a way, he was an orphan - not just of his parents, but of the Order as well.]
no subject
Do you ever think about what kind of people they might have been?
