[ zuko is literally only here to make sure sasuke hasn't, you know, already gotten himself kicked off the ship. also, he's heard things about this ship, and zuko has always had a penchant for being morbidly curious about things that are probably bad for him.

so you can find zuko wandering around and examining the remains of a blender in the kitchen, 99% certain he knew how that happened. and he may also be poking around the ship in general, curious. he has actually never legitimate been on another ship since transferring to the blue fish, and he wants to know how different they are.

also he's nosy af. ]

[He probably wasn't expecting a tall blue fish lady to harass him in the hallway, but here she is, stalking him with a passion. He's basically a child but she doesn't care-- she's jabbing her ladle at him.]

So the culprit returns to the scene of the crime! [She strikes a heroic pose, brandishing her big spoon like it's a deadly weapon.] You may have destroyed my blender... but I don't need a fancy machine to blend YOU.

zuko stares for a long moment before turning slightly to look behind him, because surely she's not talking to him, and -- ]

[ and he turns back to her, confused ]

[That ladle is about an inch from his face now.]

All the more reason for you to SNEAK INTO MY KITCHEN and TAKE THINGS APART. Isn't that right?!

[She grins and it's full of way too many needle-sharp teeth.]

[ okay, the ladle is officially too close to his face, and zuko reaches up a hand and shoves it aside with a scowl. ]

[ he jolts at the sudden yelp, but once he realizes that it's just a little kid, zuko immediately relaxes. though he's still holding the broken blender in his hands. the blender which is missing only sharp objects. ]

... I didn't break the blender.

[ automatically, and zuko sets it down on the table. why is this girl a nervous wreck? he probably did something to upset her. :( ]

But -- uh. I think I might know who -- it doesn't matter. Calm down, it's just a blender.

But if someone can't use the blender, they may be upset!

We'll have to fix it. I'll find out where to replace it...!

[ that smile is a little creepy, and zuko returns it with a blink. ]

... where do you think we can find a new blender?

[ he'll just play along, for now. and zuko seems to be asking her genuinely. ]

Maybe I could try to make a deal with another ship who doesn't use a blender often. Or I can maybe find someone who is very good at repairs! Don't you worry, sir, I won't let it stay in such a sad shape!

[She's very much determined, that's to be sure.]

[ aha. this must be the girl the ruckus was over. zuko sort of skips over the first part, and even offers her a faint smile.

[ and he glances at the blender ]

Pretty sure the person I'm visiting broke the blender, but he'd probably blame it on me anyway if you gave him the choice, so -- I'll help you replace it.

[ When he comes in, he simply sighs at the mess and gets to work in a perfunctory manner. ]

I don't think most of it is really mine to tell.

I was in a world before this one. I met him there. He doesn't have any memory of it.

{ which sucks, but. you know. things seem to be about the same as usual. sasuke is an asshole and zuko gets blamed for it. whatever. ]

He's probably just going to ignore all of you now that he's broken the blender.

[ there's a pause at that, and zuko stares at him for a moment. it's not so much the advice, but the way it's said, and there's a sudden clenching in his chest because zuko is fairly certain iroh has told zuko something similar at least sixty-seven times since they began their journey to find zuko's true path. ]
