B, sometime after they've docked at the station.
so she's become a familiar face in the corridors and in the kitchen. although sansa smiles and bobs her head and curtsies when she sees jilly, she's never really spoken to new woman. indeed, sansa risks appearing aloof with how quiet she's been. she eats the food that jilly prepares and always finishes her plate and always thanks her quietly. but, before day, she's been more a stranger than a fleet-mate.
sansa knows how to do one thing will in the blue fish's kitchen: she can make tea. currently, she's stirring honey into her cup when jilly arrives. sansa knows her name; she's heard the other people say it. ]
A-are you here to cook? [ sansa cradles her mug in two hands. ] I should be out from under your feet very soon. I promise.

You're not under my feet at all. You don't have to rush anywhere, unless you want to. Cooking is more fun with company, anyway. [and more hazardous, but it had been a week since she managed to scorch the bottom of a large pot of sauce, and that had still been edible. Mostly.]
[flipping through the stack she'd brought, she finds the paper she's looking for and moves it to the top of the pile. It has been torn from a sketchbook, considering its lack of lines, and it seems to be a collection of handwritten recipes, surrounded by little sketches] I'm Jilly, by the way. I don't think we've really had the chance to talk.

[ she curtsies. jilly sounds like a common name, but there are fewer distinctions between high-born and common aboard these ships. it leaves sansa feeling dizzyingly out of touch, but ever since learning that zuko was (indeed) a prince she'd opted to treat everyone as if they might be someone terribly important. ]
I hope -- [ a small frown. she begins again. ] I hope the Blue Fish is to your liking.

[she doesn't miss that slight hesitation as she gives her name, and she doesn't question it. As she'd said to Tyrion, names were powerful things. Important things. Sometimes even dangerous things. She knew that as well as anyone.]
It is. The Marsiva was...awe-inspiring [she still wishes she could have had a proper sketchpad and tools with her while she'd been able to sit in the viewing bay. She'd been trying to capture even a little of the feeling from memory, since she'd been shuffled, but it was like trying to drink water from cupped hands--it just kept slipping from her grasp.] but I like this better. It feels more...like a community, I guess.

[ these words are not sansa's. she repeats them -- echoes them, because borrowing someone else's is easier than trying to locate her own. as it stands, sansa isn't prepared to accept the whole crew as her kin. she may never be able to do so. but a sizable portion of her family is aboard, at least. ]
no subject
Has it been okay for you, here?
[recipe located, she sets it on one of the counter tops and begins collecting ingredients]

but as to jilly's question: ] More than, my lady. [ she doesn't drink from her tea. but she does inhale a noseful of its scent. ] I have actual family on the Blue Fish. It helps.

That's wonderful. Sokka had said it happens sometimes, but there didn't seem to be any pattern to follow.
[it's not a particularly pleasant thought to Jilly, but for the moment she can be grateful that it doesn't only bring the unwelcome elements from peoples' homes]
no subject
[ why us? ]

So the artist focused her visible attention on her task, gathering supplies and beginning the evening's meal as she listened.]
Do you have a lot more siblings who still aren't here?
no subject
A sister, too. And another brother. As well as my half-brother.
no subject
There's family she would love to see here. Geordie. Wendy. Sophie. Angel. Lou. Joe.
But her blood...? That was something else altogether.
So she lets Sansa take the lead, to talk about them or let the subject lie.]

[ what else can she say? it isn't fair to lay upon the new cook how that 'crew' of kin are all thought dead, or known dead, or were missing. to westeros, she is the remaining heir to winterfell. and even she is hidden away. disguised. if they crewed a ship, then their ship has faltered. their name besmirched and their home claimed by enemies.
not knowing what she does, sansa tries to push the subject off her family: ] And you, Lady Jilly? Have you got a big family?
