I bet you don't even have the gall to address me in-person! I swear to you, no matter what it takes, I will find the thieves responsible. [ Wait--thieves? Perhaps she's not so angry over being kidnapped as she is over something missing. Then again, hasn't she been stolen herself?

Alisaie, who has experienced loss so much over the span of her short life, can't bear to be without her grandfather's (second to) last gift to her. A grimoire that was half of one and yet fully operational as a focus on its own. After spending the past day searching for the highly-valued gift of sentiment, she's finally taken to addressing any who would listen. If Alphinaud were here, he would insist they could catch more flies with honey and perhaps she would have left this (all of this) to his expertise. Since she is seemingly without, her hand has been forced while she's not in the best of moods. ]

I would offer a reward for a hint but pray tell how I may compensate for aid when I am without my coin purse. [ Angry and cynical, what a good combination. Furthermore she won't waste anyone's time with trivialities or questions. That is knowledge she will discover on her own in due time.

For a moment, it appears as though the tantrum has concluded as she steps back from the console. [ That was...well. It was a very emotional performance, even Sascha can tell that. This girl's obviously distressed and more than a little unhappy with her current predicament, and common sense would suggest maybe giving her some time or space to herself.

Sascha does not do this.

Instead he opts to actually approach, scratching his chin a little. ]

[ Girl who is obviously very much not. ]

[God damn it. Shinji is trying to mind his own business, silently and peaceably people-watching, when some girl starts yelling about this, that, and the other thing. His every reaction is delayed, but by the end of Alisaie's outburst, Shinji is staring at her with dull irritation. He hasn't adjusted well to his circumstances here, much less the ones he left back home. Still, mentally destroyed or not, he knows the difference between indoor and outdoor voices.]

[ She's aware of that but at the time it felt good to let that anger out. Now that she's being reprimanded for her poor conduct, she can't help but keep her head lowered like the child she feels she's become. ]

[ It's actually a surprise to be offered a hand in what's honestly? A totally normal greeting. Sascha doesn't get those very often and despite the lighting he squints in order to make sure that's really what's happening here.

Whether or not solid-gold eyes are anything strange in Eorzea, they're what Sascha has as he slowly reaches back to shake her hand, baffled. ]

[ Too loud? She's been brought here against her will and has been stripped of her most precious belongings. How else was she to react to a situation that fostered such frustrations within her? ]

Have you been here long? [ At least she's using a softer voice this time though the hardness of her gaze indicates she's every bit as pissed off as she was a moment ago. ]

[From browsing the network, Shinji has noticed a pattern with newcomer reactions. Most of them tend to (1) yell about, (2) cry over, or (3) demand answers to their newfound imprisonment. He's carefully sorting Alisaie into (1) right now, since it soothes his nerves to sort things.

When he arrived, he didn't react much at all. He still hasn't accepted this is really happening.]

A few days... [Oh, wow. Her hair is super pale.] Long enough to know that no one is going to answer you. I'm sorry.

[ That shift in tone... Alisaie wonders if perhaps he understood the same pain she was going through herself. It'd be impolite to just ask outright, wouldn't it? It's unfortunate that she was brought here alone, else she could seek out the help of a familiar companion to do the talking for her. ]

[ After seeing her supposedly beloved (dead) grandfather return to her and leave alongside other oddities within a prison recently, Alisaie won't be swayed away so easily. Golden eyes or not, her grip is firm (a bit strong for someone her size actually!) and unwavering. ]

There's no need for any of that. [ The apology, that is. What good is it coming from another in the same situation as herself, which she assumes he's in if he's arrived... how long is a day again? She's never heard of such a term before.

She takes in a deep breath and does what she can to calm herself. A heated head will only cause things she should pick up on to evaporate and right now she needs every little thing chronicled in that brain of hers. ]

Would it do either of us any good to ask what here is? [ If he doesn't know, she'll invite him along to explore. Two heads are usually better than one when it comes to traveling to new places. ]

It isn't the first time they've been apart. ] He has a penchant for getting into all sorts of trouble and his charm does little to dissuade his adversaries. There's no telling what sort of storm he'll stir up in my absence.

[ Masking her emotions is a habit she has yet to master. Alisaie's young and impulsive, with a keen intellect that's been praised by her betters so she'd developed an ego alongside the other weaknesses. ]

[ If it helps any Sascha makes the same assumption, albeit not on such a grand scale. He just assumes that she must be from some country he's familiar with...at least until she goes off and says all that. It leaves Sascha blinking, confused. ]

[ He processes this. ] Alisaie Leveilleur. [ To his credit, he pronounces it more or less perfectly, though he has some hesitation to it. It's unfamiliar to his language bank. ]

[ It's okay, Sascha. Not many people travel up that far. ]

From what nation do you hail? [ Normally she can pick a person's nationality easily enough but she's experiencing a bit of trouble with this one. Perhaps she's influenced by her emotions a bit more than she cares to admit. ]

I'm not too sure actually... But I like to think it's Latvia♥ I don't suppose you've heard of it? [ Because the other white-haired woman he met certainly hadn't. ]

[ Fear not. Even if he's not here, his sister has that in common with him. Instead of allowing trouble to approach her unguarded, she just bravely strides in and addresses it. Often with a capable warrior or seven by her side. ]

Pity that he's not around. [ That doesn't rule out his being here though it does lower the chances of a reunion slightly. ]

No, I'm afraid not. [ All those years reading and she's never once heard of that nation. Is it possible there were parts of the world not known to the Sharlayan? ]

Whoever our captors are, they must fancy collecting things from different parts of the world. It's good to know that about them--once we begin to understand their impulses, we will be able to determine their motivations.

One guy I talked to said it was a super-gorgeous woman named Atroma. [ No, that is not at all what Allen said. But that's how Sascha is going to recall the event. ]

Maybe she's collecting people? Although I'm not too sure how she got us into space... I'm sure I would've remembered that.
