I think it's time I retire from teaching for a while.

I don't suppose anyone knows a decent way to pass the time?

[ When Stefan announced the prayer room, a quiet place for meditation, Obi-Wan had been thrilled. While he enjoyed and cared for the Huntress, quiet is not something they are known for. After talking to Anakin, he knew he was in dire need of quiet and inner peace

He does not regret ( he can not regret )

And yet.

In a way he had envisioned as a child, it had always been Master and Padawan, together. Even when separate, they fought together, learned together, believed in each other. But Qui-Gon died all too soon, and for so long, Obi-Wan threw his hands up against tradition. When Yoda told him to be Anakin's master, he chose to be Anakin's friend. He did not caution against attachment, only warned where it might lead.

He breathes heavily, his legs folded on the mat. It's not working. The Force is still too quiet, too alien at this moment. It doesn't understand his sorrow.

Obi-Wan chuckles, opening his eyes and pushing his hair back. It should be used to that by now.

Looking down at his hands, he's quiet when he speaks. ]

Please help me.

I'm not sure Kanan wants to learn from me.

[ After all, Obi-Wan let him down on the things he needed the most. ]

That's why a self-imposed break to regain confidence and clarify of self will help.

I'm not sure I'd jump to that conclusion just yet.

[ Hera may not know exactly what the two men have talked about, but she knows Kanan. She knows he's always sort of idolized Obi-Wan Kenobi, to some extent. ]

Spent much time on the station, yet? Maybe it would help to meet some new people.

I was considering it. I want to see if I can ferret more information about the Atroma and where we are in the galaxy.

Not to mention having a part time job to pass the time.

It's definitely helping to pass the time.

What about you? What have you done so far down at the station?

Work, mostly. It's not hard to find odd jobs to do, and I could use the money.

I'll probably settle for jobs that allow me to move around and mingle with the others.

It's actually a little surprising, how many people on this station are willing to trust complete strangers with their cargo.

If it helps, I don't think they fully understand the implications of it, especially up in space.

The government must be very permissive. Even if we got grounded.

Or their control is a lot farther than we thought. Shame all we have are theories.

All we have are theories for the moment.

From what I gathered, only two people had actual rapport with the Atroma. A captain named Clay and Nightingale.

Sometimes what you can find out secondhand is more useful than what you learn directly.

I still find it a bit unsatisfying. But perhaps that's the Jedi in me speaking. I'm used to getting to the heart of the problem quickly.

Not much in my life happens quickly. It takes patience, and being willing to piece things together from an incomplete puzzle.

Well. I certainly do not lack patience at least. Perhaps the war has driven it away from me.

War changes everyone.

I wonder. I don't know if I have changed all that much.

At the most, it overwhelmed me.

I don't think we usually notice such changes in ourselves.

It's important for a Jedi to know these things. Otherwise we could be led into the dark, blinded by our own flaws.

It's good to set high expectations, but not too high.

High expectations are what the Jedi are founded on, unfortunately.

It's not necessarily a bad thing. Setting a high bar can encourage people to improve themselves. They just have to want it.

I'm not so sure. But it's been some time, I suppose, since I've seen people want to.
